CM Bhupendra Patel Presents Kheda District with 31 Development Works Worth Over Rs. 348 Crore from Fagvel
Gandhinagar, February 2026: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel paid tribute to Veer Bhathiji Maharaj at Fagvel in Kheda district, inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 31 different development works worth over Rs. 348 crore for the overall development of the district. On this occasion, he announced that the construction of an ultra-modern Taluka Seva Sadan would be completed within one year to accelerate the administration of the newly formed Fagvel taluka.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that Fagvel is a sacred land of valour and faith, known across Gujarat and the nation. He recalled that in 2002, then Chief Minister and now Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the ‘Gujarat Gaurav Yatra’ from Fagvel, and CM stated that the development journey has since reached the global stage under the Prime Minister’s leadership.
Referring to the celebration of Somnath Swabhiman Parva, he said that Prime Minister has always highlighted the pride of identity, culture and Sanatan Dharma. He added that by honouring great personalities such as Veer Hamirji Gohel, the protector of Somnath, and Bhathiji Maharaj, who sacrificed his life for cow protection, the Prime Minister has also created a history of development through the politics of development.
Emphasising rural development, the Chief Minister stated that to reduce the burden of urbanisation and to ensure that villages also get city-like facilities, the ‘Mukhyamantri Gramotthan Yojana’ has been implemented for the development of 114 villages that do not have municipalities at taluka headquarters. He highlighted that in the coming times, the scope of this scheme will be expanded to include larger villages with a population of more than 10,000.
Referring to Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’, the Chief Minister said that this year’s Union Budget is based on ‘Kartavya’. Adopting the Prime Minister-inspired mantras of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Har Ghar Swadeshi’, he urges everyone present to participate in the journey from Viksit Kheda to Viksit Gujarat and from Viksit Gujarat to Viksit Bharat.
Cabinet Minister Shri Raman Solanki congratulated everyone on the grand programme at Fagvel and paid tribute to Veer Bhathiji Maharaj, saying that a new era of development has begun at this sacred place. He said the gift of development-oriented works, including the inauguration and foundation laying of projects related to irrigation, water supply and rural infrastructure, will transform Fagvel and Kheda district. He expressed firm confidence that the creation of a new taluka would simplify administrative processes and enhance public welfare. Stating that the state government is fulfilling Prime Minister’s mantra of ‘Sauno Saath, Sauno Vikas, Sauno Vishwas and Sauno Prayas’, he appealed to citizens to become partners in this development endeavour of the government and cooperate in making the district glorious.
Stating that a triveni sangam of strength, devotion and development has emerged on the sacred land of Kapadvanj, Minister of State for Revenue Shri Sanjaysinh Mahida said that Kheda district, once known mainly for ‘Golden Leaf’ (tobacco), is now progressing rapidly towards ‘Golden Development’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel. He added that with the formation of the new Fagvel taluka adopting administrative ease and a people-centric approach, the distance to the taluka headquarters for citizens of a 169 square kilometre area will be reduced and government work will gain speed. He described the achievements of government schemes in the district and spoke about the transformation that would result from the inauguration and foundation laying of development works.
Balasinor MLA Shri Mansingh Chauhan and District Collector Shri Amit Prakash Yadav presented the outline of the programme. Resident Additional Collector Shri J. B. Desai delivered the vote of thanks. On this occasion, the Chief Minister handed over the order of land allocation for the Fagvel Taluka Seva Sadan to the Mamlatdar and TDO.
The development works gifted today by the Chief Minister include 13 inaugurated works worth over Rs. 234 crore and 18 foundation stone works worth over Rs. 113 crore. These include works of the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Roads and Buildings Department (State), Nadiad Municipal Corporation, Health Department, as well as Kapadvanj Municipality and the Animal Husbandry Department.
In this programme organised by the district administration, Minister of State Shri Ishwarsinh Patel, MLAs Shri Pankaj Desai, Shri Arjunsinh Chauhan, Shri Rajeshkumar Zala, Shri Kalpesh Parmar, Shri Yogendrasinh Parmar, organisation office bearers Shri Ajay Brahmbhatt and Shri Nayanaben Patel, District Collector Shri Amit Prakash Yadav, Nadiad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri G. H. Solanki, District Development Officer Shri Jayant Kishor, along with administrative officers, organisation office bearers, dignitaries and the vibrant citizens of Kheda were present.
