Alwar Tiger International Half Marathon Held Under Chief Minister’s Patronage

Jaipur, February 2026 : The Alwar Tiger International Half Marathon was organised on Sunday from Pratap Auditorium, Alwar, under the chief guestship of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. Along with the Chief Minister, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Forest and Environment Sanjay Sharma flagged off the marathon in various categories. Actor Randeep Hooda, the brand ambassador of the marathon, was also present.

The Chief Minister encouraged the winners of the 21-kilometre elite men’s and women’s half marathon at the finish line. On the occasion, he honoured Padma Shri awardee Bhapang folk artist Gafuruddin Mewati Jogi by presenting him with a shawl. The marathon included categories such as 21 km elite men and women, 21 km force run, 21 km open half marathon, and 10 km open marathon.

In the early morning, amid light winter breezes, thousands of participants filled the atmosphere with enthusiasm and energy. Citizens and youth warmly welcomed the Chief Minister, who boosted the morale of participants, accepted greetings, and even took selfies with young runners. Flowers were showered on participants from a helicopter during the event.

Notably, the international-level marathon was organised under the Alwar MP Sports Festival, with the theme of promoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India Mission, tiger conservation, and Alwar tourism. Runners from various countries participated, along with personnel from the Army, Police, and Paramilitary Forces.

Several public representatives, dignitaries, and a large number of marathon participants were present at the event.
