Saurabh Bharadwaj Questions BJP Government’s Failures, Seeks Answers from CM Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, February 2026 : Delhi Pradesh President of the Aam Aadmi Party, Saurabh Bharadwaj, on Saturday raised a series of sharp questions over what he described as the BJP government’s failures over the past year and demanded detailed answers from Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

Bharadwaj questioned the government’s handling of multiple issues, including a fatal incident in Janakpuri, alleged manipulation of air quality data, rising private school fees, the creation of a “fake Yamuna,” unemployment among bus marshals, and the proposed privatisation of government hospitals.

Referring to the death of a young biker who fell into a pit dug on a Janakpuri road, Bharadwaj alleged that BJP ministers falsely claimed all safety arrangements were in place. He said the death occurred due to government negligence and questioned why ministers and the Delhi Police allegedly tampered with the crime scene. He also asked why a poor labourer was arrested while the main contractor was not, and why no action was taken against six police stations that reportedly failed to register the victim family’s complaint.

In a post on X, Bharadwaj asked why a “fake Yamuna” was created and who issued the official order to cut a filtered water supply mainline to channel water into it. He also questioned why air quality monitoring stations were shut on Diwali night and why water sprinklers were used at AQI stations, allegedly to manipulate real air quality data.

Raising the issue of private schools, Bharadwaj asked how many institutions had actually returned increased fees to parents. He questioned why audit reports of private schools had not been made public despite government assurances and court orders. He also alleged a possible nexus between the Chief Minister and Bharat Arora, pointing out that Arora is both the chairman of the Private School Action Committee and the head of the BJP’s academic cell.

The AAP leader further asked why public money was spent on artificial rain experiments when central government experts had already stated that artificial rainfall was not feasible in Delhi. He demanded to know why, despite BJP’s promises, the jobs of 10,000 bus marshals had not been restored. Bharadwaj also questioned why government hospitals built at a cost of thousands of crores of rupees were being handed over for privatisation.

Bharadwaj concluded by asking why the Chief Minister had not met the affected families in the Janakpuri case and said that the people of Delhi want clear and transparent answers on all these issues. He demanded that the Chief Minister respond in detail to each of the questions raised.
