UP makes strides in agriculture, mining, construction, transport, and real estate sectors
Lucknow : The Yogi government, focused on transforming Uttar Pradesh into a one trillion dollar economy, has made remarkable progress across multiple sectors. Agriculture, mining, construction, transport, and real estate have shown significant growth, with the most substantial gains observed in the transport, storage, and communication sectors.
The state’s GDP, a key indicator of economic growth, has seen a substantial increase. From over ₹22.84 lakh crore in the 2022-23 financial year, it has risen to more than ₹25.48 lakh crore in 2023-24. These achievements underscore the government’s commitment to establishing Uttar Pradesh as a leading industrial state.
The impact of the Yogi government’s strategic initiatives across various sectors is now evident. Between 2022-23 and 2023-24, several sectors have seen a significant boost in Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Agriculture, forestry, and fishing have grown from ₹52.97 lakh crore to ₹59.75 lakh crore. The mining and excavation sector has surged from ₹22,000 crore to approximately ₹30,000 crore. Similarly, the construction sector has expanded from ₹2.63 lakh crore to ₹2.79 lakh crore, while the transport, storage, and communication sector has risen from ₹1.81 lakh crore to ₹1.98 lakh crore.
The real estate and business services sectors have also experienced notable growth. In the financial year 2022-23, these sectors were valued at ₹3 lakh crore, which has risen to over ₹3.29 lakh crore in 2023-24. Additionally, the government’s efforts are paying off across various other sectors, including manufacturing, energy, trade, repair, hotels and restaurants, financial services, public administration, education, and health.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership has enhanced the ease of doing business, as evidenced by the strengthening of industry and trade.
Growth has been recorded across all three economic sectors: primary, secondary, and tertiary. The primary sector grew from ₹5.51 lakh crore in 2022-23 to over ₹6.27 lakh crore in 2023-24. The secondary sector expanded from ₹5.58 lakh crore to over ₹6.17 lakh crore, while the tertiary sector increased from ₹10 lakh crore to over ₹10.79 lakh crore.
