Trump Predicts Major Manufacturing Boom, Claims $18 Trillion Investment Surge in US Economy
Washington, May 2026 : US President Donald Trump on Wednesday projected a strong phase of economic expansion in the United States, claiming that trillions of dollars in investments are flowing into the country and signalling what he described as a historic manufacturing resurgence driven by foreign companies establishing production facilities in America.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said the US economy is entering an unprecedented growth cycle. “We have 18 trillion being spent, and no country has had anything like that,” he said, highlighting what he called record levels of capital inflow into the American economy.
He pointed to the automobile sector as a major example of renewed industrial activity, saying leading global manufacturers were expanding their presence in the United States. “We have car companies and plants coming in from Germany, from South Korea, from Japan coming in by the billions, and they’re being built now,” Trump said.
According to the President, the primary reason for this shift is access to the American market. “The reason to be there cause they wanna sell our market,” he said, arguing that global firms are increasingly choosing US-based production to strengthen their commercial reach and competitiveness.
Trump expressed confidence that the country would witness extraordinary economic developments in the coming years. “You’re gonna see things that nobody thought were possible,” he said. “You’re gonna see a lot of amazing things over the next three years for our country.”
The President’s remarks came amid his continued emphasis on trade policy, tariffs, and domestic manufacturing, with economic messaging remaining central to his public engagements. He repeatedly shifted focus during the interaction from foreign policy questions to economic performance and investment growth, underscoring his administration’s priority on industrial expansion.
Trump also attributed the investment surge to growing global confidence in the US economy, claiming strong performance indicators. “The economic numbers were phenomenal,” he said, expressing optimism that momentum would continue in the coming years.
Alongside economic issues, Trump criticised California’s election system, describing it as “rigged” and “one of the most dishonest.” He alleged that the process placed Republicans at a disadvantage, saying, “Republicans have to call in. It’s a rigged system.”
The comments added to Trump’s broader political messaging, combining economic optimism with criticism of state-level electoral practices, while reinforcing his narrative of a rapidly strengthening US industrial and financial landscape.
