Ricky Martin, Falguni Pathak and Sukhbir Singh to Headline T20 World Cup 2026 Closing Ceremony in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad, March 2026 : Global pop icon Ricky Martin will headline the grand closing ceremony of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, sharing the stage with celebrated Indian performers Falguni Pathak and Sukhbir Singh.
The star-studded ceremony will combine international pop spectacle with the vibrant sounds of Indian music ahead of the tournament’s final match, where co-hosts India will take on New Zealand in what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to one of cricket’s biggest events.
Organisers say the ceremony will feature large-scale performances by the three renowned artists, creating a festive atmosphere for thousands of fans expected to fill the world’s largest cricket stadium and millions more watching across the globe.
The opening act will feature Gujarat’s own music icon Falguni Pathak, who will bring traditional cultural flavour to the event with a vibrant garba performance. Widely regarded as the “Queen of Garba,” Pathak has built a devoted following through her energetic live shows and timeless songs such as Maine Payal Hai Chhankai and O Piya.
Her performance at the stadium will include elaborate choreography and the participation of around 50 Bollywood dancers, transforming the arena into a colourful celebration of Gujarati culture. The energetic garba rhythms and festive visuals are expected to set the tone for the evening’s musical showcase.
Following Pathak’s performance, Punjabi pop sensation Sukhbir Singh—popularly known as the “Prince of Bhangra”—will take the stage. Known globally for his fusion of traditional Punjabi beats with contemporary pop music, Sukhbir has produced several chart-topping hits that have become staples at celebrations and sporting events.
His performance will feature an energetic bhangra segment accompanied by a large troupe of dancers and the distinctive sound of Punjab’s traditional dhol drummers. Fans can expect to hear some of his most popular tracks, including Ishq (Oh Ho Ho Ho) and Dil Kare, which have helped define modern Punjabi pop music for decades.
The musical spectacle will culminate with a headline performance by Ricky Martin, one of the world’s most celebrated pop stars. The Puerto Rican singer has enjoyed a remarkable international career spanning more than three decades, winning two Grammy Awards and five Latin Grammy Awards.
Martin is known for global hits such as Livin’ la Vida Loca, She Bangs, and the iconic football anthem The Cup of Life (La Copa de la Vida). His high-energy stage presence and stadium-sized performances have made him one of the most recognisable entertainers in the world.
Speaking about his upcoming performance at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Martin said he was excited to be part of an event that unites sport and music on such a massive global stage.
“Sport and music have a unique way of bringing people together, and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is a celebration of that shared passion,” he said.
“It’s an honour to be part of such a special occasion, where millions of fans come together with incredible energy and love for the game. I’m excited to perform at the Closing Ceremony and celebrate the thrill of the tournament with fans in the stadium and around the world.”
Organisers have also released the schedule for the evening’s events. Gates at the Narendra Modi Stadium will open at 3.30 pm IST to allow spectators enough time to enter and enjoy the pre-match celebrations. The closing ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5.30 pm IST, while the much-anticipated final match will start at 7 pm IST.
With the stadium expected to be packed to capacity and millions of viewers tuning in worldwide, the ceremony will serve as a vibrant cultural celebration ahead of the tournament’s dramatic finale.
Event organisers have encouraged ticket holders to arrive early so they do not miss any part of the performances and the festive build-up to the championship match. The combination of international music stars, Indian cultural performances and the excitement of the World Cup final is expected to create a memorable spectacle for cricket fans around the globe.
