Finland President Alexander Stubb Witnesses Maharashtra’s Diverse Culture
Mumbai, March 2026 : President of Finland Alexander Stubb was introduced to the diverse culture of Maharashtra through a cultural programme organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs on March 6, 2026, at Hotel Taj Palace.
The programme, titled “Sanskritik Suswagatam”, was organized as a cultural welcome event for visiting heads of state and government, including presidents and prime ministers of different countries visiting Mumbai.
On behalf of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, a cultural presentation titled “Jogwa”, depicting Mahadurga, Mahakali, and Mahasaraswati, was performed. Distinct cultural characters from “Naman” were also showcased.
Additionally, “Pandharichi Wari”, an integral cultural tradition of Maharashtra, was presented before President Alexander Stubb as part of the cultural programme.
The concept of the programme was by Minister for Cultural Affairs Adv. Ashish Shelar, while guidance for the event was provided by Dr. Kiran Kulkarni, Secretary of the Department of Cultural Affairs.
