Ladli Behanas are Receiving Double Happiness under Double-Engine Government: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the women of Madhya Pradesh are becoming an example for the entire country in terms of self-reliance and empowerment. More than 65 lakh women in the state have become economically empowered by joining over 5 lakh self-help groups. Today, more than 12 lakh Lakhpati Didis are actively working across the state. The government is also encouraging women entrepreneurs, and women are now leading factories and industries. Nearly 47 per cent of the new start-ups in the state are now led by women. The state government is moving forward in mission mode to ensure the welfare and empowerment of all women.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has a double-engine government, and therefore, the girls and women of the state are receiving double happiness through the Ladli Laxmi Yojana and the Ladli Behna Yojana.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed Ladli Behnas at the state-level Mahila Sammelan held at the premises of Shabari Mata Temple, Ghatigaon in Gwalior on Friday. He said that under the capable leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is prepared to face every difficult situation. The Prime Minister has set the goal of building a Developed India by 2047, in which the sisters and daughters of Madhya Pradesh will also play a vital role. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that ahead of Navratri, Ladli Behnas have received a gift of ₹1500.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav transferred the 34th instalment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, amounting to ₹1,836 crore, into the bank accounts of more than 1 crore 25 lakh 27 thousand women across the state. This includes over 3 lakh 16 thousand Ladli Behnas from Gwalior district. He said that now ₹1500 is being deposited every month into the bank accounts of Ladli Behnas. So far, more than ₹52,000 crore has been transferred to beneficiaries under the scheme.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appealed to all Ladli Behnas to use this monthly assistance to start any activity or livelihood of their choice and contribute to building a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister also announced 54 development works worth ₹121.95 crore for the Gwalior district. Through a single click, he performed the Bhoomi-Poojan of 35 development works costing about ₹60 crore and inaugurated 19 development works worth around ₹62 crore. This included the inauguration of the newly constructed building of the Government Sandipani School at Kulaith Ghatigaon, built at a cost of ₹39.86 crore.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Ladli Behna Yojana will complete three years in two months. In these three years, the transformation in the lives of women in the state has been unprecedented. He informed that ₹42,308 crore in incentive assistance was transferred to women’s accounts between January 2024 and February 2026. The scheme has made women self-reliant and empowered. They are no longer helpless but strong. The scheme has not only provided financial independence but has also given women the courage to take risks and dream of a better future.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Gwalior is the pride of Madhya Pradesh. This land is blessed with the power of Shakti, and the world remains secure through the worship of Shakti. The Gwalior–Chambal region is playing a significant role not only in the development of Madhya Pradesh but also in strengthening the country’s economy. Once known for its ravines, the region is now emerging as a new centre of industrial activity and progress due to the efforts of the state government.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp and performing Kanya Poojan. He paid respectful tribute to the women present by showering flowers on them. Local representatives honoured him with a garland of coins (Gajmala). The Chief Minister also distributed forest rights certificates, cheques to self-help groups and Mudra scheme cheques to beneficiaries.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that economic empowerment of women is the top priority of the state government. In this direction, the government increased the monthly assistance under the Ladli Behna Yojana by ₹250 from last November, raising it to ₹1500 per month for eligible beneficiaries. The state government will now connect women associated with the scheme not only to financial assistance but also to skill development, employment, and self-employment opportunities, enabling them to play an important role in the progress of their families and society. He stated that the Gwalior district has received development works worth about ₹122 crore today. Since 2024, land has been allocated to 220 industrial units in Gwalior, which will attract investments worth ₹12,500 crore and create employment opportunities for thousands of people. A footwear cluster is being developed in Sitapur, while a new hydrogen production plant is being set up in Morena.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also stated that cheetahs are expanding their population in Kuno National Park in Shivpuri, while Madhav National Park is gaining recognition for tigers, gharials, and turtles. During the Year of Farmer Welfare, the government has decided to purchase wheat with a ₹40 bonus. To promote animal husbandry and milk production, the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana has been launched.
Major Announcements
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav approved the Aron–Patai Lift Irrigation Project in the Bhitarwar Assembly constituency. The ₹120 crore project will significantly benefit farmers in the region.
He announced the opening of Sandipani Schools in Ghatigaon, Chinor and Karahiya at the demand of public representatives. The Bhitarwar Primary Health Centre (PHC) will be upgraded to a Civil Hospital, and the Sub Health Centre in Ghatigaon will also be upgraded.
ITI centres will be established in Bhitarwar and Ghatigaon to promote youth skill development. Land will be surveyed for the construction of a grand Shabari Mata Temple and Shabari Dham in Ghatigaon, and a Dham dedicated to Bhagwan Devnarayan will also be developed. Cultural programmes will be organised annually at the Devnarayan Temple through the Department of Culture.
Union Minister for Communications & Development of North-Eastern Region, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, stated that Bhitarwar has the special blessings of Mata Shabari and that a new chapter of development is being written in the state. He said that the 34th instalment of the Ladli Behna Yojana has been transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Union Minister Shri Scindia stated that Prime Minister Shri Modi has resolved to build a Developed India by 2047, and India is moving from the Amrit Kaal of independence toward the centenary era. The goal of a developed India cannot be achieved without the economic empowerment of women. He highlighted that schemes such as the Ladli Laxmi Yojana, Ladli Behna Yojana and Chief Minister Kanyadan Yojana are transforming the lives of women. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, LPG gas cylinders have reached the homes of 10 crore women. Union Minister Shri Scindia said the people of Bhitarwar have received gifts of education, roads, and railway connectivity, and today Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has also brought the benefits of the Ladli Behna instalment and development works worth ₹122 crore.
Water Resources Minister and Gwalior District In-Charge Shri Tulsiram Silawat said that the government has fulfilled its promises, and ₹1500 has been transferred to the accounts of Ladli Behnas today. He said Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia have left no stone unturned for the development of the Gwalior region. He stated that the Chief Minister has taken a pledge to make the state’s farmers prosperous. In the last two years, the irrigation area in the state has increased by about 7.5 lakh hectares, and by 2029, 100 lakh hectares of land will be irrigated. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, work on the Ken–Betwa River Link Project and the Parvati–Kalisindh–Chambal (PKC) Project is progressing rapidly.
Bhitarwar MLA Shri Mohan Singh Rathore said that under the two-year leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, systematic development has been achieved in the state. Development works worth about ₹759 crore have been carried out in the Bhitarwar Assembly constituency. He stated that since its launch in June 2023, the Ladli Behna Yojana has written a new chapter of economic empowerment, confidence, and social respect for women in Madhya Pradesh.
