Colourful ‘Aadi Parab’ Festival Begins in Raipur

Raipur, March 2026: The vibrant tribal festival ‘Aadi Parab’ began in the state capital with colourful celebrations showcasing the rich traditions, attire, art and culture of tribal communities.

The two-day festival is witnessing participation from tribal folk artists not only from Chhattisgarh but also from Telangana, Odisha, Maharashtra and Jharkhand. The theme of this year’s festival is “From Tradition to Identity.” The event aims to provide a national platform for Chhattisgarh’s rich tribal culture, art and traditions.

The festival was inaugurated by Roop Singh Mandavi at the campus of the Tribal Research and Training Institute in Nava Raipur.

The closing ceremony on March 14 will be attended by Vishnu Deo Sai, Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam, representatives of tribal communities and other public representatives.

At the inauguration, young participants dressed in traditional tribal attire presented a lively ramp show, showcasing the unique culture and customs of tribal communities. The audience enthusiastically appreciated the performances.

Several exhibitions highlighting tribal food, traditional clothing and handicrafts have also been organised as part of the festival, attracting large numbers of visitors. The event also features “Aadi Rang – Tribal Painting Festival,” which showcases indigenous tribal art forms.

In addition, an “Aadi Haat Tribal Craft Fair” has been set up where tribal handicrafts, forest produce and traditional products from across Chhattisgarh are being displayed and promoted.

The festival celebrates the diversity and creativity of tribal communities while offering visitors a glimpse into their traditions, art and lifestyle.
