Campaign Will Benefit Maximum Citizens and Become a Milestone in Realizing the Concept of Antyodaya – Secretary, Local Self-Governance Department
Jaipur, Sept 2025 : Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and the leadership of Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, preparations for the Chalo Shehar Abhiyan—aimed at providing a smoother life for citizens—were reviewed at a state-level meeting on Tuesday in the conference hall of the Local Self-Governance Department. The meeting was chaired by Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department, Debashish Prusti, and Secretary of the Local Self-Governance Department, Ravi Jain.
Prusti directed all Secretaries of Urban Improvement Trusts to ensure necessary preparations for the successful operation of the campaign. He instructed officials to conduct intensive inspections of roads, sewer systems, and low-lying areas before the camps begin, and to arrange dewatering using mud pumps in waterlogged zones. He further emphasized that repair and construction work under the campaign must start immediately and be executed in a time-bound manner to strengthen urban and rural infrastructure and accelerate service delivery.
Milestone in Realizing Antyodaya
Secretary Ravi Jain said the aim is to benefit as many people as possible through the Chalo Shehar Abhiyan, in line with the state government’s vision. He stressed wide publicity for the campaign and urged officials to consult local representatives to understand grassroots problems. Jain issued strict directions to maintain cleanliness at camp sites, ensure dustbins are installed to prevent littering, and also instructed for tree plantation drives around the venues. He said this campaign will prove to be a milestone in realizing the vision of Antyodaya (upliftment of the last person).
Priority to Public Welfare Works
Jain added that under this campaign, all urban bodies will prioritize sanitation improvements, installation of new streetlights, control of stray animals, issuance of birth and death certificates, upkeep of public spaces, and road repairs. Additionally, services such as PM Swanidhi and CM Swanidhi loan distribution, applications for PM Suryaghar Yojana, repair of schools and anganwadis, issuance of approved land leases, lease release certificates, Atal Pension Yojana, widow/disability pensions, and other welfare schemes will be extended to the public.
