Minister Meghna Sakore-Bordikar Announced for Prestigious International Award

Mumbai, March 2026 : Minister of State Meghna Sakore-Bordikar, who holds responsibilities in the departments of Energy, Women and Child Development, Public Health, and Public Works in the Government of Maharashtra, has been announced as the recipient of the prestigious international “Outstanding Visionary Leader and True Changemaker” award. The award has been announced by the U.S. India SME Council in Washington, D.C..

The award was officially announced on March 14, 2026, and she will be honoured at a special ceremony scheduled to take place on March 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

Minister Sakore-Bordikar has implemented several initiatives in Maharashtra, particularly in Parbhani district, aimed at empowering rural women. She has made special efforts to economically strengthen women through schemes and initiatives such as encouragement for women entrepreneurs, the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, the Silk and Milk initiative for rural women, and the Single Women Empowerment Campaign.

It was stated that this international award has been announced in recognition of her remarkable work toward the comprehensive development and empowerment of women.

The U.S. India SME Council, which works to strengthen economic cooperation between the United States and India, promotes small and medium enterprises, encourages innovative entrepreneurship, and works to expand collaboration in areas such as infrastructure, energy, sustainable development, healthcare, and rural development.
