Our Government is Committed to Expanding Healthcare Facilities: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai
Doctors’ Associations and Medical Students Thank CM for Cardiology Seats
Raipur, March 2026 : Doctors’ associations and medical students met Vishnu Deo Sai at the Chief Minister’s residence office in Raipur and expressed their gratitude after the state received two DM (Doctorate of Medicine) seats in cardiology.
During the meeting, representatives of medical organisations and students honoured the Chief Minister and thanked him for the allocation of the two cardiology super-speciality seats, which they said would strengthen advanced medical education and healthcare services in the state.
Chief Minister Sai said that the state government is committed to expanding healthcare facilities across Chhattisgarh. He emphasised that the government has been consistently giving priority to improving the sectors of education and healthcare so that citizens can access convenient and high-quality medical services.
“Our government is dedicated to strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the state,” he said, adding that efforts are being made not only to provide basic facilities at health centres but also to ensure the availability of advanced medical services.
The Chief Minister highlighted the significant progress made in the medical education sector over the years. He noted that there was a time when the state had only one medical college with around 100 to 150 seats. Today, however, 14 medical colleges have been established across the state, offering nearly 1,400 seats for medical education.
In addition to medical colleges, several institutions offering education in physiotherapy, nursing, and other allied health sciences have also been established, providing students with more opportunities to pursue professional healthcare careers within the state.
Sai further announced that a Medico City is being developed in Naya Raipur. The project aims to house multiple super-speciality hospitals that will offer advanced medical treatment and modern healthcare facilities to residents of the state.
He said the initiative would significantly strengthen Chhattisgarh’s healthcare ecosystem and reduce the need for patients to travel to other states for specialised treatment.
The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to Jagat Prakash Nadda for granting the two DM cardiology seats to Chhattisgarh, describing it as an important step toward strengthening super-speciality medical education and treatment facilities in the state.
Several prominent members of the medical community attended the meeting, including Tulsi Kaushik and Devendra Kashyap. A large number of junior doctors and medical college students were also present during the interaction with the Chief Minister.
The gathering reflected growing optimism within the state’s medical community regarding the government’s initiatives to expand healthcare infrastructure, enhance medical education, and provide better treatment facilities to the people of Chhattisgarh.
