Vaishya Community Celebrates Unity Day with Cow Service, Launches ‘Service Year’

Event held on the birth anniversary of Ramdas Agarwal, founder of the International Vaishya Federation

Lucknow, March 2026 : The Vaishya community celebrated Unity Day by engaging in cow service on the birth anniversary of Ramdas Agarwal, the founder of the International Vaishya Federation. The event was organised by the Lucknow metropolitan unit of the organisation at Gopeshwar Gaushala, located in Malihabad.

During the programme held on Tuesday, members served cows by feeding them fodder and jaggery. On this occasion, the organisation also resolved to observe the year 2026 as “Cow Service Year” (Goseva Year), following a collective call to promote service-oriented activities.

Chief guest Dr Ajay Gupta, National Joint General Secretary of the organisation, said that the purpose of Vaishya Unity Day is to bring the community together and encourage participation in social service. He emphasised that, in line with this spirit, cow service has been given special priority this year.

Metropolitan President Sunil Kumar Agarwal highlighted that the Vaishya community has always upheld traditions of service, cooperation, and cultural values. He added that through cow service, the community continues to fulfil its cultural and social responsibilities.

Umakant Gupta, Manager of Gopeshwar Gaushala, welcomed all participants and urged them to contribute regularly to cow welfare by offering “gaugras” (food for cows) and extending continuous support to gaushalas.

The event witnessed the presence of several prominent members, including Dr Anil Kumar Gupta, Dinesh Chaurasia, Ashish Gupta, Rupali Gupta, Advocate Amit Patwa, Parvati Gupta, Arvind Gupta, Gangotri Gupta, Umesh Gupta, Abhay Gupta, Gopal Gupta, and Vinay Kumar Gupta, along with several other office bearers and members of the organisation.
