Forest Minister Attends Sports & Cultural Week Closing, Honours Winners

Jaipur, March 2026 : Minister of State for Forest and Environment (Independent Charge) Sanjay Sharma attended the closing ceremony of Sports and Cultural Week-2026 and the Rajasthan Day celebrations आयोजित by the Government Nursing College, Tijara at Mahawar Auditorium on Thursday. He felicitated winners of various competitions by presenting trophies and medals.

Extending greetings on the New Year, Navratri, and Rajasthan Foundation Day, Sharma said that doctors and nursing staff are akin to भगवान on earth, playing a crucial role in giving new life to patients. He emphasized that the state government is committed to providing better healthcare facilities to the public. He also appreciated the dedication of healthcare workers during the COVID period, noting their selfless service to humanity.

He informed that the nursing college building at Dhadoli village in Ramgarh is ready and a new faculty will soon be started there, which will enhance training facilities for nursing students. He lauded the college for organizing sports, educational tours, and cultural activities alongside academic training, contributing to the overall mental and physical development of students.

Encouraging environmental awareness, Sharma urged students to plant a tree under the Prime Minister’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. He also announced free visits for trainees to the tiger reserves of Ranthambore and Sariska.

During the event, winners of team sports such as kho-kho, cricket, tug of war, and kabaddi were awarded trophies and mementos. In individual events like badminton, दौड़, chess, and carrom, top performers received gold, silver, and bronze medals.

Principal Rajpal Yadav presented the college report, highlighting academic and extracurricular achievements. The event also included a farewell honour for Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sunil Chauhan, who is set to retire on March 31.

Several dignitaries, officials, and a large number of attendees were present on the occasion.
