Rani Avantibai’s Sacrifice for Motherland will be Remembered Forever: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh is a land of warrior women. From Rani Durgavati to Rani Kamlapati and Rani Avantibai, these patriotic heroines gave a strong fight to foreign invaders. The sacrifice made by Rani Avantibai for the protection of the motherland will remain unforgettable for generations. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was virtually addressing an event organised in Dindori on the occasion of Rani Avantibai’s Balidan Diwas from the Chief Minister’s residence.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated a newly constructed grand museum in Dindori, built at a cost of ₹1 crore in memory of Rani Avantibai. He said that the museum will serve as a lasting tribute, reminding people of her courage and sacrifice. The photo gallery and display of her weapons in the museum will continue to inspire future generations.

Chief Minister Dr. yadav said that while moving from heritage to development, it is equally important to remember the valour of our heroes. He stated that Rani Avantibai was born in Mankehni village of the Seoni district. It is said that when her sword struck the battlefield, it shattered the morale of the British forces. During the First War of Independence in 1857, her role in Dindori was comparable to that of Rani Lakshmibai in Jhansi. When the British brutally executed Raja Shankar Shah and Kunwar Raghunath Shah by blowing them up with cannons, Rani Avantibai took up the mantle of revolution in the region. She played a significant role in the freedom movement across the Rewanchal region. Even when the British attacked her with a massive army in 1858, she refused to surrender and ultimately laid down her life with courage and dignity for the nation.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that, to honour her legacy, the government has established a university in Sagar in the name of Rani Avantibai as a tribute to her martyrdom.  He further said that Dindori district holds a special place in his heart. Expressing satisfaction, he highlighted that under the Anaemia-Free India mission, the district administration conducted health check-ups for over 50,000 women and girls in a single day. This achievement has been recorded in the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records, which is a matter of pride. The Chief Minister stated that Dindori has also secured the first position in the state under the HPV vaccination campaign for girls aged 14 to 15 years.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the ‘Pankhini Abhiyan’ is being implemented in Dindori to empower girls through free coaching for competitive examinations. He described it as an innovative initiative and congratulated the district administration on the effort.

The event held at Balpur village in Dindori district was attended by Lok Sabha MP Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, MLA Shri Omprakash Dhurve, District Panchayat President Shri Rudesh Paraste, and Vice President Smt. Anju Byohar, Janpad Panchayat Dindori, President Smt. Asha Singh, Vice President Smt.
