Growing Presence of Madhya Pradesh in UPSC Success is Matter of Pride : Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has stated that the increasing presence of Madhya Pradesh in the success of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination is a matter of pride for all of us. He said that 61 selections from the soil of Madhya Pradesh reflect the changing face of the state. The Chief Minister, congratulating all candidates selected in the UPSC Civil Services Examination–2025, said that their success is a recognition of their determination and capability.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the selected candidates are the architects of a developed and self-reliant India by 2047. When India celebrates 100 years of independence in 2047, it will be at the pinnacle of the administrative system. Every decision and every innovation taken by them will contribute to laying the foundation of a developed and self-reliant Madhya Pradesh. He said that destiny has chosen them for an important responsibility and that success always comes with responsibility. The welfare and development of crores of citizens of Madhya Pradesh will rest on their shoulders.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed an event organised at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre to interact with and felicitate candidates selected in the UPSC Civil Services Examination–2025.
Short Film on Selected Candidates Screened
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. He also released the digital version of the booklet ‘Madhya Pradesh Ki Pratibhaon Ka Parcham’ through remote. A short film highlighting the selected candidates was screened on the occasion. The Chief Minister felicitated the candidates by presenting them with trophies.
Thoughtful, Sensitive and Hardworking Officers will become Pillars of State’s Progress
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that entering the administrative services in the world’s largest democracy is a fortunate opportunity for the selected youth. He said that the beauty of democracy lies in the fact that
public representatives face the test of elections every five years. In a democracy, a person can reach the highest positions through the trust of the people. The Chief Minister also recalled that 23 March marks the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, whose sacrifices helped secure India’s freedom. He said that while those martyrs gave us Swaraj, it is now our responsibility to establish ‘Suraj’ by building a developed and self-reliant nation.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that selection in the civil services avails an opportunity to fulfil the pledge to serve society, while also bringing pride to one’s family. He stated that officers should strive to participate in the joys and sorrows of the people. There have been instances where candidates cleared the UPSC with good ranks but were unable to effectively implement policies and programs at the field level. Being thoughtful, sensitive and hardworking will not only ensure their success but also make them pillars of the state’s progress.
Discharge Duties with Antyodaya, Innovation, Integrity and Honesty
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this is the time to lead the nation towards greater progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. India has earned a distinct identity in the world through its humanitarian approach. He urged the selected candidates to perform their duties with Antyodaya, innovation, integrity and honesty and become architects of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The Chief Minister also encouraged them to maintain a lifelong passion for learning and reading.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appreciated Shri Akshat Baldwa, who secured 173rd rank despite being completely visually impaired, and said that when the goal is clear, no physical limitation can obstruct one’s dreams.
Candidates from Smaller Towns Like Sohagpur and Sironj Also Selected
Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education, Shri Anupam Rajan, informed that 958 candidates were selected across the country in the Civil Services Examination this year, including 61 candidates from Madhya
Pradesh. He said that 22 of the successful candidates from the state studied in government schools and colleges.
Candidates from smaller towns such as Sohagpur and Sironj have also been selected, which reflects the growing interest of the state’s youth in civil services. He added that the perception that preparation for civil services requires studying only in national-level institutions or moving to cities like Delhi or Indore is gradually fading.
On the occasion, Shri Ishan Bhatnagar, who secured All India Rank 5, and Sushri Prachi Chauhan, who secured 260th rank, shared their experiences.
Shri Bhatnagar said that governance is the best means of translating constitutional values into practice, which inspired him to pursue civil services. He said that through administrative service, it is possible to ensure justice for people at the grassroots level in accordance with the spirit of the Constitution and bring meaningful change in the lives of ordinary citizens.
Sushri Prachi Chauhan said that efforts made with patience and honesty never go in vain. She said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, daughters of the state have received strong support and encouragement. Today, a farmer’s daughter from a village addressing the gathering after being selected in the UPSC examination is a living example of the changing Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also interacted with several selected candidates during the event.
