Preparation to strengthen the rural economy by making gaushalas economically self-reliant

Technical training to be provided to selected gaushalas to make them self-sustaining

Lucknow, March 2026 : Under the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, gaushalas across the state are being modernized and made self-reliant. As part of this initiative, preparations are underway to equip gaushalas with German technology. Through the adoption of new technologies, gaushalas will be made economically self-sufficient, further strengthening the rural economy.

Selected gaushalas in the state will be provided with training in these technologies to help them become self-reliant.

In this regard, an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Tuesday between the Uttar Pradesh Gau Seva Aayog and Germany’s reputed institution GIZ GmbH.

During a formal event held at the Aayog’s office, the Chairman of the Gau Seva Aayog and the delegation from the institution jointly signed the agreement. Under this partnership, technical training will be provided to selected gaushalas in the state to make their operations more organized and efficient.

As per the agreement, special emphasis will be placed on capacity building and human resource skill development for gaushalas.

Chairman of the Gau Seva Aayog, Shyam Bihari Gupta, stated that the training will focus on management practices, optimal utilization of resources, and adoption of modern technologies. The selection of gaushalas for this initiative will be carried out by the Gau Seva Aayog.

A key feature of this agreement is that it is entirely based on technical cooperation. There is no provision for financial assistance; instead, the focus is on the exchange of knowledge and skills.

According to Chairman Shyam Bihari Gupta, this initiative will make gaushalas in the state more capable and self-reliant. He added, “It will also enhance the efficiency of individuals associated with cow service by providing them with knowledge of modern technologies.”

The objective of the Yogi government is to develop gaushalas not merely as shelters but as organized and productive units.

Through this training, the scientific and commercial utilization of cow dung, cow urine, and other cow-based products will also be promoted.

This collaboration aligns with the goals of sustainable development and environmental conservation.
