HPV Vaccination Achievement—Major Step towards a Safe and Healthy Future for Girls: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has appreciated the Health Department, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and officials and staff of coordinating departments for successfully vaccinating more than two lakh girls under the HPV vaccination campaign in Madhya Pradesh. He said that this achievement is the result of dedication, hard work, and public awareness. He also specially appreciated the role of aware parents, whose understanding and positive approach has helped the campaign gain momentum.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this achievement is not merely a statistic but a major step toward ensuring a safe and healthy future for the daughters of the state. He stated that the state government is continuously working to provide accessible, quality and comprehensive healthcare services to citizens. Several schemes are being effectively implemented to ensure safe motherhood, a malnutrition-free childhood, and improved care for newborns. Through the promotion of institutional deliveries, expansion of vaccination coverage, and strengthening of nutrition services, the state is rapidly moving toward a healthier and stronger future.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government gives the highest priority to the health and empowerment of girls. The HPV vaccination campaign is a strong initiative in this direction and will help reduce the risk of serious diseases such as Cervical Cancer in the future. He appealed to all citizens, social organisations, and public representatives to continue advancing this campaign as a people’s movement, ensuring that no eligible girl remains deprived of this protective shield. He expressed confidence that just as the state has achieved a leading position in the country within a short time, the target of 100 per cent coverage will also be achieved soon. He said this achievement is an important milestone toward realising the vision of ‘Healthy Madhya Pradesh, Empowered Madhya Pradesh’.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further said that continuous efforts are being made to strengthen healthcare services across the state. Improvements are being made in hospital infrastructure, the availability of modern medical equipment, and the deployment of specialist doctors to enhance the quality of healthcare services. At the same time, services from Primary Health Centres to district hospitals are being upgraded to make maternal and child healthcare more effective, ensuring timely and better treatment for every citizen.

Success Achieved Through Parents’ Awareness and Field Workers’ Dedication

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla appreciated the entire Health Department team and related departments and expressed gratitude to social organisations and aware parents. He said that the national launch of the special HPV vaccination campaign was carried out by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 28 February 2026 from Ajmer.

Under this campaign, Madhya Pradesh vaccinated more than one lakh girls, securing a leading position in the country, and has now crossed the two lakh mark, further strengthening its leadership role.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla particularly appreciated the contributions of Mandla, Balaghat, Dindori, Rajgarh and Khargone districts, where the campaign has achieved notable success. For effective implementation at the state level, district-level coordination was established under the chairmanship of the Collectors. Departments such as School Education, Women and Child Development, and Panchayati Raj, along with various voluntary organisations, worked together to turn the campaign into a mass movement. He urged parents across the state to ensure HPV vaccination for their 14–15-year-old daughters to protect them from serious diseases such as cervical cancer. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla expressed confidence that the Health Department will soon complete vaccination for all remaining eligible girls.

So far, 2, 00,538 girls have been vaccinated under the campaign in the state. Districts performing exceptionally well with more than 50 per cent coverage include Dindori (74.70%), Rajgarh (69.61%), Balaghat (68.95%), Mandla (66.44%), Khargone (55.06%), and Khandwa (53.15%).
