In a phone interview with Fox News’ programme The Five, Trump said the United States had already achieved decisive military success. “Militarily, we’ve totally won the war,” he stated, emphasising that Iran’s ability to wage conventional warfare had been severely weakened.

The President outlined what he described as extensive damage inflicted on Iran’s military infrastructure. According to Trump, US operations had neutralised key components of Tehran’s defence apparatus, including its navy, air force, missile systems, and communications networks. He also claimed that missile launch platforms were destroyed, significantly limiting Iran’s strike capabilities.

Trump further asserted that US strikes had targeted elements of Iran’s leadership structure, though he did not provide specific details. He suggested that internal instability within Iran’s leadership had increased following the military campaign.

Despite the strong rhetoric, Trump indicated that the United States is leaving room for diplomacy. He revealed that Iran had requested additional time for negotiations, which Washington has granted. “They asked for more time, and I gave them a 10-day period,” he said, adding that discussions are currently progressing “fairly well.”
