Aizawl City Cleanliness Campaign Faina Hnatlangpui 2026 Launched
Aizawl, March 2026: The Aizawl Smart City Division of UD&PA, Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC), and Central YMA jointly coordinated the Aizawl Khawpui Faina Hnatlangpui 2026, which was launched on 28th March 2026 at Lammual, involving all YMA branches across Aizawl city.
The program officially began at 7:30 AM at Vanapa Hall, with Pu Joseph H. Lalramsanga, Municipal Commissioner, AMC, inaugurating the event. Prof. Malsawmliana, General Secretary, CYMA, delivered a speech, while UD&PA Commissioner & Secretary Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau formally announced the Faina Hnatlangpui campaign along with the Aizawl City YMA Branch Fai Initiative 2026. The kick-off involved active participation from various volunteer groups and government departments at Lammual, marking the official start of the cleanliness drive.
During the campaign, all YMA branches across Aizawl city actively participated in cleaning activities, ensuring proper waste disposal, clearing of debris, and overall maintenance of public spaces. Volunteers from local YMA branches also contributed to the initiative, demonstrating strong community engagement.
The Faina Hnatlangpui campaign focused on 15 key target areas, which were cleaned and maintained by participating YMA branches. This ensured that the campaign had a visible impact and reached areas that otherwise lacked regular cleanliness activities.
This initiative is part of the Comprehensive Plan for Municipal Solid Waste Management in Aizawl, aiming to make Aizawl the cleanest and garbage-free city in India. The Coordination Committee emphasized the importance of community participation, planning, and effective implementation, encouraging YMA branches to adopt best practices and continue similar cleanliness initiatives under the Aizawl City YMA Branch Fai Initiative 2026.
The campaign underlines the city’s commitment to sustainable waste management, public hygiene, and citizen involvement, serving as a model for civic engagement and environmental responsibility.
