‘School Chalein Hum’ Campaign to begin From April 1
The new academic session 2026–27 will begin across the state from April 1. The School Education Department will mark the beginning of the session with the ‘School Chalein Hum’ campaign, which will run until April 4. Various activities will be organised in schools across the state each day from April 1 to 4. The School Education Department has issued guidelines in this regard to all District Collectors and District Education Officers. During the campaign, special emphasis will be placed on student enrolment in government schools across the state. Madhya Pradesh has around 92,000 government schools, including primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools, with nearly 8.5 million students currently studying in them.
State-Level Events
A state-level event of the ‘School Chalein Hum’ campaign will be held in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Preparations for the event have already begun by the School Education Department.
District and School-Level Enrolment Festival
At the district level, Ministers in charge of districts will participate in the Praveshotsav (enrolment festival) to be organised in selected schools. Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and other public representatives will also attend these events.
On this occasion, free textbooks will be distributed to students. The School Education Department has made arrangements to ensure that students receive textbooks at the beginning of the new academic session. Necessary instructions have been issued to District Education Officers and field-level staff in this regard.
Children who have been identified as out of school in villages and habitations will be enrolled in schools during the campaign. Parents of students will be welcomed at the school level. On April 1, Bal Sabhas (children’s assemblies) will be organised in all schools from Class 1 to 8, and special meals will also be arranged for students on the same day.
‘Bhavishya Se Bhent’ Event to Engage Dialogue with Students
On the second day of the campaign, schools will organise the ‘Bhavishya Se Bhet’. Under this initiative, distinguished and respected personalities from different fields of society will be invited to interact with students as motivational speakers.
Local achievers such as sportspersons, writers, artists, media professionals, communication partners, police officers and government officials will be invited to schools. These guests will motivate students by highlighting the importance of education and sharing inspiring stories. Social organisations and invited individuals may also voluntarily present useful school items to students. District Collectors have also been instructed to ensure that Class I and Class II officers visit at least one school and interact with students during a class period.
Cultural and Sports Activities
On April 3, cultural and sports activities will be organised at the school level with the participation of parents. The objective is to strengthen the connection between parents and schools. On the same day, the school’s academic staff will inform parents about various government schemes related to school education. Parents of students who maintained more than 85 per cent attendance during the previous academic session will be honoured at the event.
“Victory beyond Defeat” Initiative
On April 4, under the ‘School Chalein Hum’ campaign, students who were unable to secure promotion to the next class due to various reasons will be identified. Parents will be counselled about continuing their children’s education and encouraged to support them in overcoming setbacks. They will be informed that consistent efforts can help build a successful future even after failure.
On the same day, a meeting of the School Management and Development Committee will also be held. The meeting will review the new academic session and discuss children who have not yet been enrolled in schools. Committee members will work towards ensuring 100 per cent enrolment of children in their respective schools and will prepare and discuss the annual action plan for its effective implementation.
