SRH Crush KKR by 65 Runs in High-Scoring IPL Clash

Kolkata, April 2026 : Sunrisers Hyderabad produced a dominant all-round display to register a convincing 65-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 6 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the iconic Eden Gardens on Thursday.

After being asked to bat first, SRH came out all guns blazing, thanks to their explosive opening duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. The pair tore into the KKR bowling attack, racing to 82 runs in just 5.4 overs. Abhishek was particularly aggressive, smashing 48 off 21 balls, while Head matched the tempo with a blistering 46 off 21 deliveries.

Following the fiery start, Heinrich Klaasen anchored the innings with a composed yet impactful 52 off 35 balls. His knock ensured that SRH maintained momentum through the middle overs and finished strongly, eventually posting a formidable total of 226/8 in their 20 overs.

For KKR, Blessing Muzarabani stood out with the ball, delivering an impressive spell of 4/41 in his four overs. Vaibhav Arora provided support with two wickets, but the rest of the bowling unit struggled to contain SRH’s aggressive batting lineup.

Chasing a daunting target, KKR began their innings with a burst of aggression as Finn Allen smashed 28 runs off just 7 balls, giving the home side early hope. However, the momentum quickly faded as wickets fell at regular intervals.

Young wicketkeeper-batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a fighting knock of 52 off 29 balls, while Rinku Singh contributed a steady 35 off 25 deliveries. Despite their efforts, the lack of partnerships proved costly, and KKR’s batting lineup crumbled under pressure.

SRH’s bowling attack was clinical in execution, led by Jaydev Unadkat, who claimed 3 wickets for just 21 runs in his three overs. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Eshan Malinga chipped in with two wickets each, ensuring KKR were bundled out for 161 in just 16 overs.

The comprehensive victory gives Sunrisers Hyderabad an early boost in the tournament standings, highlighting their batting firepower and disciplined bowling. For Kolkata Knight Riders, the defeat exposes concerns in both bowling consistency and middle-order stability, areas they will need to address quickly.
