Promote Academic Focus and Patriotism in Hostels and Ashrams: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that a positive environment promoting academic focus and patriotism should be fostered in hostels and ashrams run by the Tribal Affairs Department. He also directed that support from organisations such as the Jan Abhiyan Parishad and Gayatri Parivar be taken to strengthen the management of these institutions.

The directions were issued during a review meeting of the Tribal Affairs Department held at the Secretariat on Wednesday. Tribal Affairs Minister Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah joined the meeting virtually.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasised that special attention must be given to cooking arrangements, cleanliness, and security in hostels and ashrams. He also called for proper training and monitoring systems to ensure sensitive and effective management of these institutions. It is noteworthy that around 3,000 hostels/ashrams are operated by the Tribal Affairs Department in the state, while the Scheduled Caste Development Department runs nearly 2,000 hostels/ashrams.

Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Neeraj Mandloi, Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs Shri Gulshan Bamra, and other officials were present at the meeting.
