United States Is Not Learning Lessons From Its Experiences – Says Iran.

Tehran; April 2026: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson has said that the United States is not learning its lessons from experiences, and this will never lead to good results. Adding further the spokesperson has affirmed that Iran has no plans regarding a new round of talks with the US.

Resonating the assertive by the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson – Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, has said that the US and Israel have failed in their attacks on Iran, and warned that Washington will not fare better at the negotiating table. “They stated that they could conquer all of Iran in a few days and carry out regime change”, Jalali said in an interview with Russian newspaper Vedomosti.

While answering a question to which of their tasks have, they (United States) achieved success? Jalali answered – Not in one! The attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel have failed. He noted that US demands had shifted dramatically over the course of the conflict. “At first, they wanted regime change, but they got to the point where they only wanted to open the Strait of Hormuz. It fails. And the naval blockade he announced does not make any sense, because we have an iron will for further actions”. Jalali said the war had in fact strengthened Iranian resolve rather than weakened it.

He said the US had agreed to Iran’s 10-point plan before abandoning it. “What Trump did not achieve during the war; he will no longer be able to achieve during negotiations. Negotiations mean that people must reach a fair compromise based on a win-win position”.

Meanwhile, the Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has reiterated that the previous peace meeting in Islamabad yielded no result. According to him:

  • Submitted 10-point proposal and that was discussed in Islamabad,
  • The Strait of Hormuz was safe before the US-Israeli attacks,
  • The US stated that the ceasefire in Lebanon was not part of an agreement, despite Iran’s clarification to the Pakistani mediator,
  • The US imposed a maritime blockade and attacked an Iranian ship, a violation of the ceasefire and international laws,
  • The US has violated talks and negotiations twice, attacked Iran, killed Iranian people and attacked infrastructure,
  • The US violated the ceasefire from the beginning of its implementation, and we informed the Pakistani mediator of this,
  • It violated the ceasefire agreement by imposing a naval blockade on us,
  • We cannot forget US attacks on us during previous negotiations,
  • Will continue defending our national interests,
  • If US and Israel want to start new aggression, our armed forces will respond accordingly,
  • The Americans are playing the game of blaming Iran,
  • “This game is ongoing instead of them playing a positive role. But we cannot expect the Americans to say the truth, they’re always accusing us”,
  • “It seems that America is not serious at all”.

Professor Amin Saikal of the Australian National University, in his interview to media reporters have said, “the seizure of an Iranian cargo ship in the Gulf risks inflaming the situation ahead of critical talks in Islamabad. These sorts of actions could simply result in an escalation of tensions”, warning that the move could “torpedo the chances of a reasonable outcome from the talks in Islamabad”.

He said it was “about time that both sides tried not to engage in actions that could result in escalation, particularly if they are serious about reaching a lasting settlement”.

On Trump’s approach, Saikal said the President was “trying to use both characteristics simultaneously, saying he wants a resolution of the crisis, while on the other hand issuing threats against Iran. That inflames the situation”. With the ceasefire deadline days away, Saikal said both sides were under “tremendous pressure”, but noted that “the Strait of Hormuz has become a new deterrent for Iran”.
