The State Government is Committed to Providing Housing to the Common People – Housing Minister Atul Save.

Mumbai : To fulfill the citizens’ dream of owning a home, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced the concept of ‘housing for all.’ In line with this vision, Housing Minister Atul Save stated that the government is striving to provide quality and affordable housing to the common people through both state and central government initiatives.

The National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) organized the Real Estate Forum 2024, which was inaugurated by Housing Minister Atul Save today at the Trident Hotel in Mumbai. NAREDCO President Prashant Sharma, Chairman Kishore Bhatija, Sandeep Runwal, Rajesh Doshi, Housing Department Secretary Valsa Nair, and Mumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani were also present at the event.

Minister Save mentioned that several housing schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ramai Awas Yojana, Shabri Gharkul Yojana, Modi Awas Yojana, Yashwantrao Chavan Mukta Vasahat Yojana, and Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar Gharkul Yojana, are being implemented in the state. He urged members of the National Real Estate Development Council to cooperate for the effective implementation of these schemes.

The state government has announced a 1 percent stamp duty concession for women purchasing homes, which will indirectly benefit the real estate industry. The government also intends to digitize the stamp duty application process, Minister Save added.

Minister Save highlighted that the state government has resolved to provide 1 lakh houses in the coming year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is that everyone should have a rightful home. The state government plans to construct about 1.5 lakh houses for mill workers and has set a target of building three crore houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The state aims to construct 35 lakh houses in the next five years, with a budget allocation of ₹7425 crores. He encouraged NAREDCO to actively participate in this initiative. The government will positively consider including suggestions from today’s seminar in the new housing policy, Minister Save concluded.
