IT and Electronics Department has entrusted UPLC with the responsibility of determining consultancy and operating the PMU
Lucknow : In a significant move towards transforming Uttar Pradesh into a hub of enterprise and innovation, the Yogi government has initiated the process of establishing an Integrated IT Park and Incubation Center in Lucknow.
In line with CM Yogi’s vision, an action plan was developed to establish various facilities, including an IT Park, STPI Park, Incubation Center, and State Data Center, across a 40-acre area in Lucknow’s Amausi Industrial Area. To implement this plan, a Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) will be formed through the appointment of a consultancy firm.
The IT and Electronics Department has entrusted this task to Uttar Pradesh Electronics Corporation Limited (UPLC), which has begun the process of selecting the consultancy firm.
Under the project, the appointed PMU will not only monitor various development and construction activities of the Integrated IT Park and Incubation Center but will also prepare a roadmap to attract investment from major investors both domestically and globally.
Notably, as part of the project, a modern, state-of-the-art building named “Electronics Niketan” will be constructed. This building will house the offices of PMUs and other related units associated with organizations like the IT and Electronics Department, UPDESCO, CEG, UPECL, and Shreetron.
According to CM Yogi’s vision, the Integrated IT Park and Incubation Center project will pave the way for the establishment of the state’s largest incubation centre. This incubator facility will be developed over an area of more than 2,00,000 square feet. The IT Park will be built on 30 acres, while the STPI and State Data Center will each occupy 2 to 3 acres.
Additionally, various facilities will be constructed and developed, including a 20-seater convention centre with an auditorium, a 100-seater meeting hall, boardrooms, commercial and industrial workspaces, offices, residential complexes, parks and green spaces, ATM installations, and a cafeteria. The appointment of the PMU will also facilitate the completion of investment processes in the IT Park and all data centres operating within it.
According to the development plan for the IT Park and Incubation Center project, the process will be carried out in six phases. In the first phase, candidates for the establishment of various IT parks across the state, including Lucknow, will be identified. Investment promotion capabilities for the IT Park in Lucknow will be developed.
During the construction phase, activities such as field studies, concept development, RFP management, project supervision, stakeholder consultation, selection and monitoring of third-party firms, knowledge management promotion, marketing promotion, investment promotion, and outreach will be completed.
Following this, the post-development phase of the IT Park will begin, in which the operational procedures of the construction process will be measured based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
