Grand Opening of Shri Ram Katha at Tenduva Dham; CM Vishnu Deo Sai Seeks Blessings of Saints
Raipur, April 2026 : Vishnu Deo Sai attended the grand inauguration of a nine-day Shri Ram Katha at Tenduva Dham in Kuriyari, located in Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh. The event is being held at the Ram Milenge Ashram in Shivrinarayan, a place deeply associated with religious and cultural heritage.
The Chief Minister, accompanied by his wife Kaushalya Sai, performed traditional पूजा and offered prayers for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state. During the event, he also received blessings from Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, a revered saint and recipient of the Padma Vibhushan.
Addressing the gathering, Sai described Chhattisgarh as not only the “rice bowl” of India but also a land of service, dedication, and deep faith. He highlighted the spiritual significance of the region, recalling that the land has been blessed by the presence of Lord Ram during his exile. He also referred to the devotion of Mata Shabari, which continues to inspire generations and reflects the enduring traditions of faith and devotion preserved in the state.
The Chief Minister noted that Tenduva Dham is emerging as an important centre for religious and cultural awakening, where thousands of devotees have gathered to listen to the Shri Ram Katha. He termed the occasion as particularly fortunate, as it provided an opportunity to receive the blessings and guidance of multiple saints on a single platform.
On the occasion, several religious and cultural facilities were inaugurated at the ashram, including the Harivansh Aushadhalaya and Panchakarma Centre, Shri Ram-Janaki Mandapam, Harivansh Vedic School, Maa Durga Gau Temple, and the Hanumat Entrance Gate. Sai appreciated the efforts of the ashram management and contributors for developing these institutions.
Emphasising the spiritual and cultural ethos of the state, Sai reiterated that Chhattisgarh stands as a symbol of devotion and service alongside its agricultural identity. He also mentioned the contribution of the state during the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, noting that 11 truckloads of rice and a team of doctors were sent as a gesture of faith and support from the people of Chhattisgarh.
He described the consecration of Lord Ram in the grand temple at Ayodhya after nearly 500 years as a moment of national pride and cultural unity. He added that through the Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, thousands of devotees are benefiting by visiting Ayodhya.
The Chief Minister further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with the bravery of security forces, Naxalism has been effectively eliminated from the state. He said the government is now focusing on ensuring peace, development, and social harmony across Chhattisgarh.
Highlighting the cultural identity of the state, he remarked that the phrase “Chhattisgarhiya Sable Badiya” truly reflects the values and lifestyle of its people.
The event witnessed the presence of several prominent saints, including Vasudevanand Saraswati Maharaj and Kinnar Akhada head Maa Tina, along with public representatives, officials, and a large number of devotees.
Dr. Ashok Harivansh, head of the Raghav Seva Samiti, informed that the site is believed to be the birthplace of Mata Shabari, and a grand Shri Ram Temple is being constructed there in Kalinga architectural style. The ashram is also running various social and religious initiatives such as a dispensary, Vedic school, cow shelter, Panchmukhi Hanuman temple, Gita Vatika, Shabari kitchen, and mass marriage programmes for underprivileged girls.
As part of the event, special days are being organised to honour different sections of society, including persons with disabilities, blood donors, leprosy patients, and meritorious students.
