Governor Deka visited the archaeological city of Sirpur
Governor Shri Ramen Deka during his stay in Mahasamund today visited the famous and ancient Lakshmana temple in the archaeological and historical city of Sirpur. The Governor was mesmerized by seeing the grandeur and construction style of the temple. It is known that this temple is a protected monument by the Central Archaeological Department, which was constructed in the 6th century. The specialty of this temple is that it is built of red bricks. Apart from this, the Governor also visited Tivardev Vihar and Surang Tila. During the observation, the officials of the Archaeological Department gave detailed information about the history and construction style of the temples. On this occasion, the Governor appreciated the maintenance of the temples in the visiting register and also suggested to pay special attention to their beautification.
Governor Shri Deka planted a native mango sapling under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign in the Laxman Mandir premises of the historical and archaeological city of Sirpur.
On this occasion, officials of the Mahasamund District Administration and officials of the Forest and Archaeological Department were present.
