Sikkim CM Extends Support to Upcoming Revival and Healing Festival in Gangtok

May 2026 : Prem Singh Tamang on Wednesday met members of the organising committee of the upcoming Sikkim Revival and Healing Festival and extended his best wishes for the successful conduct of the event scheduled to be held in Gangtok next week.

Sharing details of the meeting on social media, the Chief Minister said the delegation was led by Minister G. T. Dhungel and Political Secretary Jacob Khaling. He added that the three-day festival will be organised from May 11 to 13 at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok.

“Met the organising committee of the Sikkim Revival & Healing Festival this morning at my official residence. I extend my best wishes for the success of this event,” Tamang wrote in his post.

The festival is being organised by the Sikkim Pentecostal Church Council and is expected to see participation from members of the Christian community across Sikkim as well as neighbouring states.

According to organisers, the three-day programme will include prayer sessions, spiritual discourses, gospel music performances and community outreach activities. The event aims to bring together people for collective worship and spiritual reflection.

Religious gatherings of this nature have long been an important part of the Christian community in Sikkim, where churches and faith-based organisations regularly hold revival meetings and healing festivals. These events are seen as platforms for strengthening spiritual awareness, promoting social harmony and encouraging community bonding among people from different regions of the Himalayan state.

Over the years, Christian organisations in Sikkim have also contributed to social welfare initiatives, including educational assistance, health awareness campaigns and humanitarian outreach programmes in remote and underserved areas.

The upcoming festival is expected to draw large crowds at Paljor Stadium, one of the key venues in Gangtok used for major public, cultural and state-level events. Organisers anticipate participation from youth groups, church leaders, worshippers and community representatives from across districts.

The meeting between the Chief Minister and the organising committee is being viewed as a positive gesture of support for community-driven social and spiritual initiatives in the state. It also reflects the government’s engagement with diverse cultural and religious groups and its encouragement of events that promote peace and unity.

With preparations in the final stages, the Sikkim Revival and Healing Festival is expected to be one of the significant religious gatherings in the state’s calendar this year, bringing together faith, culture and community participation on a common platform.
