Rajasthan’s Largest-Ever Contingent Reaches Pune for All India Power Sports Championship

Six Teams from Rajasthan Power Utilities Participate; Women’s Kho-Kho Team Reaches Final

Rajasthan Wins Best March Past Trophy at Opening Ceremony

Jaipur, May 2026: Maharashtra Power is organising the 47th All India Power Basketball, Wrestling, Men’s and Women’s Kabaddi, and Kho-Kho Championship at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune. Following the inauguration ceremony held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, competitions in all sporting events commenced.

Rajasthan has sent its largest-ever contingent to the All India Power Championship, with a total of 47 players participating across six teams. For the first time, the Rajasthan power utilities’ men’s basketball and kho-kho teams, along with the women’s kabaddi and kho-kho teams, are participating in the national-level competition.

At the inauguration ceremony held at Balewadi Stadium on May 6, the Rajasthan contingent delivered an impressive march past and won the trophy for the Best March Past among teams from across the country. The Rajasthan contingent was led by team manager Pawan Sharma during the parade.

In the matches that began on Wednesday, the Rajasthan men’s kho-kho team delivered a strong performance in the league stage and advanced to the next round after defeating the Gujarat Energy Corporation team.

The Rajasthan women’s kho-kho team also performed brilliantly, defeating the Gujarat team in the semi-final to secure a place in the final. In the final match scheduled for Thursday, the Rajasthan women’s kho-kho team will face the host team from Maharashtra.

Energy Minister Mr. Hiralal Nagar extended his best wishes to all players from the Rajasthan power utilities for their outstanding performance in the All India Power Championship.
