24 Champhai South Mla Discusses Vawmkawlui Box Culvert Project

Champhai : Lt. Col. Clement Lalhmingthanga, MLA for Champhai South, addressed concerns regarding the Vawmkawlui Box Culvert project funded under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) 2022-2023. He noted that the project, which includes the construction of box culverts in Melbuk and Zokhawthar, has faced delays, and there are still obstacles preventing its completion.

The MLA emphasized that while 80% of the work is reportedly complete, there are still significant issues that need to be resolved. He urged that the project should be expedited to ensure its timely completion and to improve infrastructure in the area.

Lt. Col. Clement Lalhmingthanga also highlighted the importance of the Indo-Myanmar Border Trade and the need for effective management of border trade points. He stressed that the development of the Zokhawthar Border Trade area is crucial and should be prioritized to enhance regional economic opportunities.

The MLA’s office is actively coordinating with various departments, including PWD, I&PR, and MJA Champhai District, to address the ongoing issues and ensure the project’s successful completion.
