Govt to Issue Decision on September 2 Regarding Pending Salaries of Police Patils – DCM Devendra Fadnavis

Nagpur : Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured today that a government decision will be issued on September 2 to resolve the issue of the last four months’ pending honorarium for Police Patils in the state. He also stated that the state government would take a positive decision on the demand to increase the retirement age of Police Patils to 65 years.

Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis was speaking at a gathering in the Hanuman Nagar area. Present on the occasion were MLAs Chandrasekhar Bawankule, Praveen Datke, and Parinay Phuke, Special Inspector General of Police Nagpur Dilip Patil Bhujbal, President of Maharashtra State Village Workers Police Patil Sangha Balasaheb Shinde-Patil, and Working President Parashuram Patil, among others.

Fadnavis remarked that it was an honor to be present at the convention of Police Patils, an institution with a glorious history spanning 2,000 years. He described the Police Patil as the “Home Minister” of the village, responsible not only for law and order but also for women’s safety. He urged Police Patils to carry out their duties with a sense of responsibility and authority. Fadnavis also expressed gratitude for their service, noting that the state government has granted an additional salary as a token of appreciation.

During the program, considering the four-month arrears of the Police Patils, Fadnavis gave instructions over the phone to the Additional Secretary of the Home Department, confirming that the government decision would be issued on September 2.

He acknowledged the demand to raise the retirement age of Police Patils from 60 to 65 years as valid and assured that a positive decision would be taken after discussions with the Chief Minister and other concerned parties. He also promised to explore the possibility of including all types of medical treatment under the Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana for Police Patils upon retirement. Additionally, he mentioned that a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) would be developed to ensure that Police Patils are treated with respect by both the police department and revenue officers.

MLAs Chandrasekhar Bawankule, Parinay Phuke, and Special Inspector General of Police Dilip Patil Bhujbal also addressed the audience. Parashuram Patil, Working President of the Police Patil Sangha, delivered the welcome speech, and Balasaheb Shinde-Patil, President of the Sangha, provided the introduction.
