One lakh youth will be recruited in UP Police in the next two years: CM Yogi
Varanasi : In a significant announcement on Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled ambitious plans for youth employment during his visit to Varanasi. The Chief Minister said that within the next two years, the state government will recruit 1 lakh youth into the UP Police.
CM Yogi was speaking at the State Working Committee meeting and membership workshop of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in Varanasi. CM Yogi said, “2 lakh more youth will be provided with government jobs across various sectors in coming two years.”. He emphasized that the state has established a fair and transparent system for government recruitment, ensuring that all youth have equal opportunities.
Reflecting on the achievements of his administration, CM Yogi highlighted that over the past seven and a half years, more than six and a half lakh youth have already been employed through various government initiatives. He also noted the recent successful completion of the state’s largest police recruitment examination, which will soon enable over 60,200 young individuals to join the police force.
CM Yogi also offered valuable insights to the youth, urging them to embrace politics not as a pursuit of power or personal gain, but as a platform for upholding values and ideals rooted in principles. He emphasized that politics should serve the interests of the state and the nation, rather than individual ambitions.
Drawing inspiration from the teachings of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, CM Yogi reminded the youth of the importance of principled politics. He stated, “Always remember, politics without principles is a noose of death. We must not fall into temptation and must never compromise our values, no matter the circumstances.”
He highlighted the transformative changes in Uttar Pradesh, noting that the focus on empowering the youth has led to significant progress.
CM Yogi pointed out that the state’s efforts to create employment opportunities have borne fruit, with youth now securing jobs within their own districts and villages. He also mentioned that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the second-largest economy in the country, attracting major investments due to its emphasis on youth power. Looking ahead, he set an ambitious goal of making Uttar Pradesh the number one economy in India within the next 3-4 years.
In addition, the Chief Minister challenged the members of Yuva Morcha to strive towards making their organization the best in every respect.
During the program, he acknowledged the participation of youth from various districts across the state, emphasizing how their enthusiasm serves as a catalyst for new energy. This energy, he noted, is essential in realizing the Prime Minister’s mission of good governance.
CM Yogi underscored that this stage of life is characterized by both energy and talent, and in public service, politics should not be seen as a mere tool for attaining power, but as a means of establishing values and ideals. He stressed the importance of staying focused on the purpose without seeking credit, reminding everyone that they are merely instruments in a larger mission.
Reflecting on the transformation of Uttar Pradesh over the past several decades, CM Yogi remarked on the stark contrast between the state’s past and present. He spoke about the identity crisis that the youth faced, the anarchy, and the lack of respect for daughters and traders in the previous era. Discrimination was rampant, and the state was plagued by issues like migration and farmer suicides. However, he highlighted the positive changes that have occurred since Prime Minister Modi took charge, leading to a new Uttar Pradesh.
Noting the positive outcomes, he said, “The improved security and governance have turned Uttar Pradesh into a prime destination for both national and international investors. During the Investor Summit held in February 2023, the state attracted a staggering Rs 40 lakh crore in investment proposals. These investments are expected to generate employment opportunities for approximately one and a half crore youth, ensuring they no longer need to migrate to other states in search of jobs. Instead, they will find employment within their own state, district, and even their village.”
Additionally, CM Yogi noted the significant improvements in infrastructure and utilities, with Uttar Pradesh now providing 24-hour electricity and better road conditions, further enhancing the state’s appeal to investors and contributing to the overall development of the region.
“While the state once led the nation in population, it lagged behind as the seventh-largest economy. Today, however, Uttar Pradesh’s economic growth has become a subject of global discussion. The state has now risen to become the second-largest economy in India, with ambitions to claim the top spot within the next three to four years,” Yogi added.
CM Yogi expressed his admiration for the energy and enthusiasm of the youth present, describing it as the “energy of nation-building.” He emphasized the importance of engaging more young people to ensure that the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morchaemerges as the leading youth organization in the country. The Chief Minister underscored that this youthful energy is crucial not only for the development of Uttar Pradesh but also for the nation as a whole.
He criticized political opponents accusing them of harboring elements that threaten national unity. He pointed out the Congress’s historical opposition to Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and their perceived monopoly over the Bharat Ratna, asserting that people are now aware of their true intentions.
CM Yogi emphasized the vital role of the Yuva Morcha in this context, urging the youth to safeguard the interests of the state and the nation while paving the way for societal progress. He highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s vast potential, noting that it is home to the largest youth population in India, and called on the young generation to work towards harnessing this potential for the greater good.
CM Yogi shared these simple but important lessons:
- Don’t stray from your core values and principles in life.
- Temptations will come, but remember Atal Ji’s advice that politics without principles is like a death trap.
- If you give in to temptations, it can lead to losing your sense of identity, like falling into a dangerous trap.
- Don’t let anything threaten your identity, or the honor of your family, great leaders, and your state.
- For every BJP worker and every Yuva Morcha member, always remember that the country is more important than the party.
- In everything you do, carry the spirit of serving the nation.
- Work with full dedication to the country in all your efforts.
- Face the challenges to national unity together, and be vigilant against those who try to mislead or create division.
- Move forward with the spirit of Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah Sarve Santu Niraamayaah
- Through your hard work and efforts, you will build a new and strong identity for yourself.
