Women Becoming Empowered Through Government Schemes: CM Bhajan Lal Sharma

Jaipur, May 2026: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented several public welfare schemes on the ground aimed at the holistic development of the poor, youth, farmers, and women. He highlighted initiatives such as Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, household toilet construction, the Ujjwala scheme for LPG connections, and the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal programme, which have significantly strengthened women’s empowerment.

The Chief Minister was addressing the Gram Vikas Chaupal programme in Dhambola village of Dungarpur district on Thursday. He said that the state government is ensuring benefits of the Lado Protsahan Yojana reach all eligible beneficiaries. Scooters and bicycles are being distributed to girls to promote education, while pregnant women are being supported through the Maa Voucher Scheme. Honorariums for ASHA workers have also been increased. He said that women are becoming stronger through various Central and State government initiatives.

He added that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, 22 lakh women in Rajasthan have been trained through the Rajivika programme, while 17 lakh women have become “Lakhpati Didis,” achieving financial independence. He further said that under the Lakhpati Didi initiative, the state government has increased the loan limit to ₹1.5 lakh and reduced the interest rate from 2.5% to 1.5% per annum for self-help group members.

The Chief Minister said that the government is also ensuring ample employment opportunities for youth. As part of the commitment to provide 4 lakh government jobs, appointment letters have already been issued for over 1.25 lakh posts. Recruitment examinations for another 1.25 lakh posts have been scheduled, while exams for 1.35 lakh posts are currently underway. He said that all recruitment processes during the current tenure have been conducted transparently.

He added that more than 3 lakh jobs have been created in the private sector as well, while the government is actively promoting self-employment opportunities. Under the Chief Minister Dairy Producer Support Scheme, a subsidy of ₹5 per litre is being provided, benefiting a large number of women. He also noted the introduction of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act by the Prime Minister to increase women’s representation in Parliament and state legislatures.

During the event, the Chief Minister handed over tractors and threshers provided under subsidy to women of CLF Oberi and Punali under the Custom Hiring Centre scheme. He interacted with members of self-help groups, including Gayatri Ninoma, Sugna Rot, Sita Hadat, Maya Katara, and Hansa Kharadi, and also spoke with beneficiaries of the Senior Citizens Pilgrimage Scheme.

He distributed loan cheques worth ₹5.51 crore and ₹1 crore to Rajivika self-help groups. He also provided tablets to Data Sakhis Bhagwati and Poshan Sakhis Tina under the Lakhpati Didi scheme.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude during the interaction, stating that access to tractors through Custom Hiring Centres would increase productivity and group income, making women more financially empowered. Another beneficiary shared that her pilgrimage dream was fulfilled through the Chief Minister’s support.

The programme was attended by Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi, MLA Shankarlal Decha, and several public representatives along with a large number of villagers.
