Ensure Kanwariyas Do Not Face Any Difficulty — Chief Minister

Patna, May 2026: Chief Minister Shri Samrat Choudhary today reviewed the preparations for the Shravan Mela-2026 in the “Samvad” hall located at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. During the review, all District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of Police/Superintendents of Police joined through video conferencing.
In the meeting, the Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, Shri Jai Singh, gave a detailed presentation on arrangements for Shravan Mela-2026, including security and law and order, drinking water, toilets, bathing facilities, cleanliness, uninterrupted electricity supply, health and medical arrangements, tents, pandals, water supply, CCTV cameras, fire safety arrangements, etc.
In the meeting, senior officials including Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department Shri Anand Kishore; Principal Secretary, Disaster Management Department Shri Santosh Kumar Mall; Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department Shri Vinay Kumar; Principal Secretary, Agriculture Department Shri Narmdeshwar Lal; Secretary, Tourism Department Shri Lokesh Kumar Singh; Secretary, Road Construction Department Shri Pankaj Kumar Pal; Secretary, Health Department Shri Kumar Ravi; Secretary, Energy Department Shri Ajay Yadav; Secretary, Food and Consumer Protection Department Shri Deepak Anand; Secretary, Water Resources and Information & Public Relations Department Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh; Secretary, Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Department Shri Sheershat Kapil Ashok; Secretary, Transport Department Shri Raj Kumar; and Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department Shri Rajesh Kumar gave detailed information regarding preparations being made by their respective departments.
Additional Director General (Law & Order) Shri Sudhanshu Kumar also informed about security and law and order arrangements.
During the review, the Chief Minister directed officials that all District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police should ensure proper preparations for the Shravan Mela and prepare a detailed report regarding arrangements. He said that it is necessary to clearly define what arrangements are required for devotees’ convenience and safety, and how crowd management will be ensured through proper planning.
The Chief Minister said that Kanwariyas should not face any kind of difficulty. The pedestrian routes should be well-organized and convenient. Proper arrangements for toilets, cleanliness, and drinking water should be ensured. Health facilities should be available near major resting points on the Kanwar route. Emergency medical facilities should also be available so that immediate treatment can be provided if any health issue arises.
He further said that there should be no exposed electric wires anywhere and uninterrupted electricity supply must be ensured. During the offering of water at Shiva temples in the state, crowd control and proper management must be ensured. Full attention should be given to the safety of devotees.

Through video conferencing, District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of Police/Superintendents of Police of all districts also joined the meeting.
