Simhastha works will be reviewed continuously: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Simhastha, held in Ujjain every 12 years, is an important event for the state and the nation. The state government has started preparations for Simhastha and will undertake construction of numerous facilities for devotees and tourists coming to Simhastha. These will include upgrading current facilities and ensuring arrangements for accommodation, food and traffic in Ujjain. Government departments and other undertakings should work together to complete all these works in co-ordination. Along with the development of road and rail transport facilities, air traffic should also be given priority and included in the long-term plan. In the meeting, many important works including making Indore-Ujjain road six lane, Indore-Ujjain alternative four lane road (distance 49 km) were discussed.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the meeting of the cabinet committee constituted for Simhastha 2028 in the Mantralaya today. He directed to complete the works related to Simhastha within the time limit. CM Dr. Yadav said that the preparations being made for Simhastha 2028 will be continuously reviewed. Deputy Chief Minister and Public Health and Family Welfare, Medical Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, Urban Development and Housing and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsi Silawat, Transport and School Education Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput, Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Shri Dharmendra Singh, Minister of State for Skill Development and Employment (Independent Charge) Shri Gautam Tetwal and Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Smt. Pratima Bagri were also present in the meeting. Chief Secretary Smt. Veera Rana, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister’s Office Dr. Rajesh Rajoura and senior officers of other departments were present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was apprised by the officials about the action being taken by the departments on Simhastha Infrastructure: 2028 Action Plan, development through TPS in Padav area, parking transport proposal and Ujjain Indore Metro Project.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Simhastha is a prestigious event for the entire state along with Ujjain and Indore divisions. The economy also benefits from the arrival of devotees in large numbers. A large number of devotees in the state reach places like Ujjain, Indore, Omkareshwar and Maheshwar. The pilgrims visit this entire region. Necessary facilities should be developed accordingly.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that for the convenience of elderly pilgrims, the closer the parking spaces are to the ghat, the less they will have to walk. The grounds of the campus of various educational institutions and other institutions should also be used for parking. For this, necessary action should be taken by conducting studies and surveys from now on.
Construction of four-lane road in urban areas should be expedited
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the Public Works Department to speed up the construction of the four-lane road from KD Gate to Veer Durgadas’s Chhatri to Gonsa Marg in Ujjain and complete it soon. With the construction of this proposed road, citizens will get the facility to go directly from Gopal Mandir and the main urban area to Jawra, Badnagar and Kaal Bhairav. To promote spiritual tourism, a helipad is currently being constructed at Sadaval in Ujjain. The passengers coming under the Tirtha Darshan Yojana will be able to reach here easily and get the facility after the construction of this route. It will help in connecting the urban area directly to the helipad. CM Dr. Yadav directed that action should be taken by the Public Works Department in view of the facility to be available to the general public in future.
Along with the metro, the focus will also be on enhancing other rail facilities
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that necessary efforts will be made for the development of other rail facilities along with Ujjain-Indore Metro. It was informed in the meeting that earlier the Transport Department was playing the role of nodal department for coordination with the Railway Ministry. Now this responsibility has been entrusted to the Public Works Department. The distance from Shri Mahakaleshwar (Ujjain) to Indore Metro Project is 47 km and the number of proposed stations is 8. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has undertaken a feasibility study for this. The estimated cost of the work is 10 thousand crores and the target is to complete the work in the next three and a half years. A detailed report related to this project is being prepared.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also directed to complete the previously approved departmental works within the time limit. He gave necessary instructions regarding the renovation of ghats and beautification of other ghats. Discussion was also held in the meeting regarding Kanh River Diversion Scheme and construction of new barrages. CM Dr. Yadav directed the departments to work in co-ordination with reference to Simhastha: 2028 and complete the works within the time limit for the development of necessary facilities.
These important works discussed
Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Shri. Neeraj Mandloi gave a presentation. In the meeting, information was provided about the works conducted by Public Works, Water Resources, Energy, Renewable Energy, AYUSH, Culture and other departments. In the infrastructure action plan, a total of 450 works of 21 departments have been included under the Simhastha head. Simultaneously 181 works have been prescribed in the departmental head. The Water Resources Department will construct 29.21 km of ghats, 30.15 km of Kanh river diversion, 14 barrages on Kshipra river and 11 barrages on Kanh river. Silar Khedi reservoir will be expanded and filled for continuous water flow in Kshipra river. Water will be lifted through Sevarkhedi barrage. Water Resources Department will construct access roads to the 30 km long ghat on the banks of Kshipra river. New EHV sub-centre and additional high pressure centre for work related to additional high pressure is also being built by the Energy Department.
The Urban Administration and Development Department will spend Rs 357 crore on the water augmentation scheme of Ujjain city. Works are also being taken up for sewerage project, construction of bus stand on Dewas road and widening of city roads. For the purpose of Simhastha, 23 access roads and ancillary infrastructure will be constructed for the convenience of devotees at Mahakal temple and fair site. E-co mobility corridor will be developed parallel to Kshipra river at a cost of Rs 150 crore. Indore Ujjain Greenfield Four Lane Project (length 48.05 km) will be constructed on Hybrid Annuity Model at a cost of Rs 950 crore.
The AYUSH department will construct a 50-bed capacity hospital, a hostel and an auditorium. The Tourism and Culture department will construct Ahilya Lok in Maheshwar. Various museums and Hotel Kshipra will also be upgraded. Veer Bharat Museum will be built in Kothi Mahal, Ujjain at a cost of Rs 80 crore. Along with this, various arrangements will be made in 3360 hectares of area in Kal Bhairav, Mangalnath, Dattakhada and Mahakal area in the Simhastha fair area. In the proposed park area of 10 km in Ujjain, facilities will be developed in the proposed 780 hectares to connect Ujjain-Indore State Highway and Ujjain-Garoth National Highway, apart from Ujjain-Dewas National Highway, Ujjain-Barnagar National Highway, Ujjain-Agar National Highway, Ujjain-Maksi State Highway and Ujjain-Nagda State Highway with the Simhastha area. Similarly, the proposed parking area within 50 km will be of 484 hectares.
