Religious Minority Schools Urged to Submit Proposals for Grant Scheme by September 15

Mumbai : A subsidy scheme is being implemented to provide infrastructure facilities to government-recognized private aided, unaided, permanently unaided schools, junior colleges, industrial training institutes, and schools for the disabled with a majority of religious minority students in suburban Mumbai. For the year 2024-25, the Mumbai Suburban Collectorate has called on these minority-majority institutions to submit their proposals by September 15, 2024.

Schools are required to apply in the prescribed format as per government guidelines. In the concerned schools, junior colleges, and industrial training institutes, at least 70% of students must belong to minority communities, while in schools for the disabled, 50% of the students must come from these communities. Additionally, these institutions must be approved by the government. Self-financed schools are not eligible for this scheme, according to the Mumbai Suburban Collectorate.
