Coordinated efforts will be made to conserve and promote Maa Narmada– CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Maa Narmada has been existing since evolution on Earth. The residents of Madhya Pradesh are fortunate, to have the Narmada as its lifeline. He said that while Maa Narmada is a symbol of people’s faith and devotion, its waters play a big role in the growth of our agriculture.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we are making efforts to ensure that both banks of the Narmada remain clean and there is incessant flow of water. There should be no harm to the environment. Efforts should be made to purify water from the sewers of nearby settlements and towns, for this, different departments of the government will work in a coordinated manner. It is believed that a dense forest from where the Narmada originates helps in the flow of water and needs to be protected and to ensure that there is no threat to the source due to the increasing human settlement in Amarkantak, the authority will work to protect the source of Narmada. The Authority will consider an alternative arrangement for the population away from the origin of Narmada. Mandla, Dindori, Narsinghpur, Narmadapuram, Dewas, Omkareshwar are the pilgrimage places the routes of which will be better managed. There should be adequate facilities for safe bathing at the ghat. To enable devotees to do Parikrama Maa Narmada easily, indicators will be placed on the Parikrama route. Ashrams will be built where there are uninhabited areas.
May the form and purity of Maa Narmada remain intact
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that many decisions have been taken to ensure that the sanctity of Maa Narmada and its uninterrupted water flow remains intact and that normal life can continue smoothly. I am confident that all the departments of the government will work in a coordinated manner to maintain the form and sanctity of Maa Narmada. He said that efforts will be made to ban meat and liquor around religious cities. He said that the action taken in view of the instructions will be reviewed again in November. In the coming time, it has been decided to hold a Cabinet meeting in Maheshwar on the 300th birth centenary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai, a devotee of Maa Narmada.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the entire area from the origin of the Narmada to Jabalpur has been the work place of Rani Durgavati. The 500th birth centenary of Rani Durgavati is going on. Remembering Maa Narmada, many programs will be organized on 5th October, on the birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati focusing on her life. We will succeed in our objective with the cooperation of seers, saints, devotees and local residents to retain the sanctity of Maa Narmada.
