UAE Sends 50 Tonnes of Food Supplies to Assist Flood-Affected People in Nigeria

Abu Dhabi: As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts, the UAE has dispatched a plane carrying 50 tonnes of food supplies to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The aid is intended to help alleviate the suffering of those affected by recent flooding in various regions of the country.

In recent weeks, heavy rains have caused severe flooding across Nigeria, leading to widespread damage to infrastructure and the displacement of thousands of people. Several states, including key agricultural areas, have been severely impacted, resulting in food shortages and an urgent need for humanitarian assistance.

Salem Al Shamsi, the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting countries facing humanitarian crises. He stated, “This aid reflects the UAE’s dedication to fostering humanitarian cooperation with the international community and supporting nations during times of crisis and disaster. We are working together to provide the necessary assistance to help them through this challenging period.”

The UAE remains committed to providing humanitarian and relief aid to countries affected by natural disasters, upholding its values of global solidarity and assistance to those in need.
