Preparations Underway to Launch Beed-Pune Train on Marathwada Liberation Day: Deputy CM Sunetra Ajit Pawar

Review of Beed-Parli Railway Line Development

Beed, July 2026 : The Maharashtra government is making full preparations to launch a Beed-Pune train on this year’s Marathwada Liberation Day, September 17, Deputy Chief Minister and Beed district Guardian Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar said while interacting with journalists.

She recalled that the first-ever Beed-Ahilyanagar train was flagged off on September 17, 2025, on the occasion of Marathwada Liberation Day. The late Ajit Pawar had played a key role in accelerating the project, she said, adding that launching a Beed-Pune train this year would be another step towards fulfilling his dream.

A separate meeting was held to review the progress of railway development projects in the district, following which Sunetra Pawar briefed the media about the developments.

The long-awaited dream of Beed residents was realised after the railway line from Ahilyanagar to Beed was completed. The first train on the route was operated on September 17, 2025, in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and then Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, marking a major milestone after nearly four decades of waiting.

Work on the railway line has now progressed up to Vadwani, and the trial run has also been successfully completed. Work beyond Vadwani towards Parli has been expedited, Pawar said.

She directed officials to maintain close coordination with the Central government and ensure that the remaining work is completed at the earliest. She also assured that the state government would ensure that there was no shortage of funds from its side for completing the railway project.
