Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Inaugurate Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centers Online Tomorrow
Nashik – In an effort to expand vocational education and promote skill development among youth, Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centers are being established in 63 colleges across 13 talukas in the district. These centers will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 20, 2024, at 12:30 PM via video conferencing. The initiative aims to provide more youth with access to vocational education, and Collector Jalaj Sharma has urged rural and urban youth to participate in large numbers and take advantage of this program.
The event will be attended by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, the Minister of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, along with Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, Members of the Legislative Council, and local representatives.
A total of 63 Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centers will be set up in various talukas, including Baglan (Satana) – 2, Chandwad – 4, Deola – 1, Dindori – 4, Igatpuri – 2, Kalwan – 2, Malegaon – 12, Nandgaon – 2, Nashik – 19, Niphad – 3, Sinnar – 5, Trimbakeshwar – 6, and Yewala – 1.
These centers will offer short-term courses lasting between 200 to 600 hours (typically 3 months), aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). Akhtar Tadvi, Junior Officer of the District Skill Development, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center in Nashik, stated that these centers will help provide trained manpower to meet the needs of local industries, thus creating opportunities for employment and self-employment for the youth.
