Social Security for Construction Workers through Various Schemes – DCM Devendra Fadnavis

Nagpur : The state government is committed to improving the lives of the common people through various welfare schemes. Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that more than 3.8 million construction workers in the state have been registered and provided social security through the Construction Workers Board. He distributed safety cards, health and safety kits to the workers during the event.

Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis was addressing the gathering. Also present on stage were former president of the Construction Workers Board Omprakash alias Munna Yadav, former mayor Sandeep Joshi, and corporator Sonali Kadu.

Fadnavis highlighted that social security is being extended to construction workers through various government schemes facilitated by the Construction Workers Board. Workers’ children are offered free education from primary school to graduation, and tuition fees are waived for those gaining admission to prestigious educational institutions. Families of the workers receive free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh. Additionally, homeless workers are provided with houses under schemes like the ‘Atal Awas Yojana’ and the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’, with financial assistance of ₹4 lakh. Skill-based training is also offered to workers’ children. The distribution of security cards today ensures workers’ families will have access to 12 essential services, including health, education, and housing.

Fadnavis further mentioned the introduction of several welfare initiatives for the general public. Under the ‘Chief Minister-Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’, ₹1,500 is deposited monthly into women’s bank accounts. Additionally, through the ‘Lake Ladki Yojana’, financial assistance of up to ₹1 lakh is provided at various stages, from birth to age 18, for girl children. Free higher education is also offered to girls, and the state government aims to make 1 crore women in the state “Lakhpatididis” (millionaires).

At the event, Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis distributed safety cards, Sansar kits, and safety kits to workers as a symbolic gesture.
