Vote Counting Completed for New Serchhip North and Chhim Veng VC By-Election

Serchhip :The vote counting for the by-elections held yesterday in New Serchhip North and Chhim Veng Village Councils (VC) has been completed. In New Serchhip North, Pu H. Lalengzauva, the ZPM candidate, secured victory with 462 votes, while in Chhim Veng, Pu PC Siamliana, an independent candidate, won with 237 votes.

The vote distribution in New Serchhip North was as follows:

• H. Vanlalsawma (INC) received 116 votes.
• B. Lalpanliana (MNF) received 363 votes.
• H. Lalengzauva (ZPM) received 462 votes.

There were 5 invalid votes in New Serchhip North. A total of 946 votes were cast, resulting in a voter turnout of 59%.

The vote distribution in Chhim Veng was as follows:

• Lalbiakdiki (MNF) received 118 votes.
• Chawnghranhluna (ZPM) received 229 votes.
• PC Siamliana (Independent) received 237 votes.

There were 9 invalid votes in Chhim Veng. A total of 593 votes were cast, resulting in a voter turnout of 67.7%.
