Elderly health checkup camp concluded in the district, health checkup of more than 12 hundred elderly people was done

Under the guidance of Collector Deepak Soni, a one-day check-up camp was organized at all the primary and community health centers for the health check-up of the elderly in the district. In which a total of 1286 elderly people were tested across the district. Necessary tests like sugar, blood pressure, dental and eye tests, physiotherapy, ECG were done in the camp. Along with this, medicine kits, sticks, walkers, knee caps were also distributed free of cost to the necessary patients. According to Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Rajesh Kumar Awasthi, special health care is needed with increasing age. In old age, people often have to face problems due to many types of health problems like weakness, eye disorders, bone pain, hearing problems, depression. Therefore, the elderly should keep getting their health checked from time to time. District Program Manager Srishti Mishra said that along with the above mentioned check-up of the people who came to the check-up camp, they were also educated about healthy lifestyle and food habits through the non-communicable disease control program. The elderly people who came to the camp were honoured with a bouquet of flowers and arrangements were also made for their refreshments. Those who came for checkup were given yellow cards so that if required, they can get themselves checked by the doctor directly in OPD without standing in line. 75 year-old Chautaram Verma, a resident of village Mopka in Bhatapara, has both Diabetes and Blood Pressure. He told that the hospital staff examined him and also gave him medicines. Considering the difficulty in walking, he was also given a stick. Similarly, 69 year-old Sevati Verma who suffers from arthritis was provided with knee caps. These materials were given free of cost.
