State Recommends Rs. 40 Crore Dairy Projects, Allocates Rs. 5 Crore for Milk Testing Equipment.
Meeting of State-Level Technical Management Committee for Dairy Development Scheme: Rs. 40+ Crore Projects Recommended, Rs. 5 Crore Allocated for Advanced Milk Testing Equipment
Jaipur : The State Level Technical Management Committee (SLTMC), formed for implementing the Centrally Promoted Dairy Development Scheme, has recommended the approval of new projects worth over Rs. 40 crore in Rajasthan. This recommendation was made during an SLTMC meeting chaired by the Secretary of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Dr. Samit Sharma, on Wednesday.
In the meeting, a Rs. 5 crore allocation was recommended for purchasing advanced equipment to test milk and milk products, with the Government of India representative present in the meeting agreeing in principle. Dr. Sharma directed district milk union managing directors to ensure no compromise on milk quality, emphasizing that high-quality milk is a consumer right.
Mrs. Shruti Bhardwaj, Managing Director of the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation, informed that 135 new bulk milk coolers would be installed at rural primary milk producer cooperative societies. She also shared that Rs. 16.41 crore has been allocated for Pali district to strengthen milk collection, marketing, and training under the scheme, with a completion deadline set. Furthermore, Rs. 8 crore for Udaipur, Rs. 8.40 crore for Bhilwara, and Rs. 23.15 crore for rural dairy development in Jodhpur district have been recommended for approval.
Senior officials from the Dairy Federation, Managing Directors of district milk unions, Director of Animal Husbandry Mr. Bhavani Singh, and Technical Officer Mr. Naresh Kumar Yadav, representing the Government of India, were also in attendance.
