FIDE Chess Olympiad Winners met CM
Hon’ble CM Sri Revanth Reddy felicitated and announced a cash reward of ₹25 lakhs each for chess players, World Rank 3 Mr. Arjun and World Rank 11 Ms. Harika, in recognition of their outstanding performances at the recently concluded 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad held in Budapest, Hungary, from the 10th to the 23rd of 2024. Both the Indian Men’s and Women’s teams made history by winning team gold medals, with Mr. Arjun also securing an additional individual gold medal for India, further elevating the nation’s stature on the global chess stage.
The felicitation ceremony was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Minister Sri Tummala Nageshwar Rao and Sri Nayini Rajendher Reddy MLA and Adviser Sri Vema Narender Reddy, Sports Chairman Sri Shiva Sena Reddy, and Sports MD Smt. Soni Bala Devi, along with other esteemed dignitaries.
This recognition is a testament to the government’s commitment to promoting and supporting excellence in sports, honoring the remarkable achievements of Indian athletes on the world stage.
