Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel attends the Bhajan Sandhya Sant Vani programme
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel attended the Bhajan Sandhya Sant Vani organised on Gandhi Jayanti. Outstanding Safai Mitras of Raj Bhavan and Swachhata Sevis of Bhopal were honoured. Bhajans were presented beyond the Bandish of singing, restrictions of language and geographical boundaries in the Bhajan Sandhya organised at Sandipani Auditorium of Raj Bhavan. On this occasion, Minister of State for Culture Independent Charge Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, Principal Secretary to the Governor Shri Mukesh Chand Gupta, Additional Secretary to the Governor Shri Umashankar Bhargava, officers and employees of Raj Bhavan and a large number of devout listeners were present.
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel honoured Raj Bhavan’s Head Janitor Smt. Ruma Bai, Safai Karamchari Shri Moolchand Basod and Agency Safai Karamchari Shri Mahesh Bichhole by presenting them medals, certificates and Swachhata Kits. On this occasion, founders of cleanliness supporting non-governmental organisations of Bhopal city were also honoured. Those honoured include Swachhata Kitty Group Bhopal’s co-founder Sushri Ruchika Sachdev and Positive Thinking Swachh Bharat Organisation’s co-founder Sushri Anita Sharma.
In the second session of Sant Vani programme, lead singer Shri Rajiv Singh presented bhajans in his special style of festive singing along with Shri Aman Malk and Shri Rohit Kumar Wankhede. Nirgun bhajans, Sufi Kalam and Krishna Bhakti bhajans and songs of traditional genre of music from Sant Sahitya were presented. First of all, he gave a unique presentation of the song “Vande Mataram” with English narration in Rajasthani style. With festive gaiety, the audience was enthralled with the joy of devotion by the Shri Krishna bhajan “Saanson ki mala tohre naam”. Saint Kabir’s bhajan “Kabir khada bazaar mein, mange sabki khair, na kahu se dosti, na kahu se bair” was presented in a passionate manner. The audience was moved by the song “Ganga behti kyun ho” by Padma Vibhushan awardee Bhupen Hazarika. The melodious voice of Krishna devotee Nawab Sadiq’s composition “Kanhaiya yaad hai, kuch bhi humari” in the auditorium created a wave of devotion. Selected verses from the famous poet Nazir Akbarabadi’s nazm Aadminama were presented in his unique singing style. The Punjabi bhajan of Krishna devotee Athoni of Amritsar “Krishna teri murli te bhala kaun nahi nachda, dharti chan sitare nachde, sare bhagat pyare nachde” made the audience immersed in Krishna devotion at the bhajan evening. In the last presentation of Sant Vani, Shri Rajiv Singh won the hearts of all the listeners with his melodious rendition of Amir Khusro’s Kalam “Kahe Ko Byahe Bidesh, Are, Lakhiya Babul More”.
In the first session of Bhajan Sandhya Sant Vani, bhajans were presented by Rupali Chatterjee, Talat Hasan, Shikha Yadav, Shikha Bamne, Mousumi Saha, Geetika Lahot and Anjana Bhatia women’s group. The bhajan evening began with the women’s group’s rendition of the bhajan “Vaishnav Jan Tene Kahiye”. After this, the song from the film Jagriti “De Di Hamen Azadi Hamen Bina Khadag Bina Dhal Sabar Mati Ke Sant Tune Kar Diya Kamal” was sung collectively. The third and final presentation of the group’s songs including Sant Kabir’s famous bhajan “Chadariya Jhini-Jhini” soaked the Sant Vani programme in devotional feelings.
Those who accompanied the singers on musical instruments in the Bhajan Sandhya included Hanif Hussain on Sarangi, Arif Khan on Banjo, Amir Khan on Tabla, Prashant Srivastava on Dholak, Iqbal Khan on Octopad and Sushri Aarti on Dholak. At the beginning of the programme, Director of Culture Department Shri NP Namdev gave the welcome address. Controller of Household Smt. Shilpi Diwakar proposed vote of thanks.
