Dr. Tara Bhavalkar’s Selection as a Literature Lover is a Joy — Deputy Chairman Dr. Neelam Gorhe
Sangli : Legendary writer, poet, researcher, and thinker Dr. Tara Bhavalkar has received the honor of President of the All India Marathi Literature Conference for his achievements and contributions to literature. Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council, expressed her personal happiness regarding Bhavalkar’s election, highlighting his significance as a literature lover.
Dr. Gorhe congratulated Dr. Bhavalkar during her visit to his residence following his election as President of the 98th All India Marathi Literary Conference, which is scheduled to be held in Delhi in February 2025.
Dr. Gorhe emphasized that Dr. Bhavalkar has successfully showcased the literature of saints, the mysticism of female saints, and the occultism of Sita. She noted that the seeds of thought must take root and flourish. With a group of women, literature works to advance thought, develop the ability to understand complex questions, and help individuals find strength to transform their sorrows. She expressed that Bhavalkar’s selection is indeed a joyful one.
Marathi Steps Forward
Dr. Gorhe remarked that the Marathi language has attained the status of a classical language, marking a significant step forward for Marathi literature. She mentioned that efforts to secure this status began in 2013. Due to continuous advocacy by the state government, the position and recognition of Marathi have come to the forefront. Each Sahitya Sammelan (Literary Conference) previously included a resolution regarding the status of Marathi as a classical language. With the achievement of this status at the upcoming Sahitya Sammelan, further planning is now required. Dr. Gorhe expressed gratitude to both the State and Central Governments for their efforts in this regard.
