Aizawl : Mizoram Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati inaugurated various Border Roads Organisation (BRO) projects in Mizoram today, including Project 1 at Metre 125, the Ngengpuilui Bridge, and the Lawngtlai-Diltlang-Parva Road. The event, part of the inauguration of 75 BRO projects across 11 different States and Union Territories of India, was conducted virtually from Raj Bhavan. The Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, had previously inaugurated the projects from Sikkim, emphasizing their significance for India’s infrastructure development.
Among the 75 newly inaugurated projects, there are 22 roads, 51 bridges, 1 helipad, and 1 other facility. These projects are strategically constructed in areas facing challenging terrain and remote border regions. The initiative aims not only to improve road connectivity but also to enhance the security and economic development of border areas by facilitating easier access and infrastructure growth.

Two of the 75 projects inaugurated today fall under Project Pushpak in Aizawl, Mizoram, including Metre 125, the Ngengpuilui Bridge, and the Lawngtlai-Diltlang-Parva Road. Additionally, road projects in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, particularly the North-South Road, were inaugurated. The opening of the Ngengpuilui Bridge will significantly enhance connectivity between Parva and the surrounding areas along the Indo-Bangladesh and Indo-Myanmar borders. Over the past year, Project Pushpak in Aizawl has completed six projects, including three roads and three land improvement works.
