Telangana Can Achieve True Development Only Under BJP’s Double-Engine Government: Nitin Nabin

Hyderabad, June 2026 : BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Monday asserted that Telangana’s overall development is possible only under a “double-engine government” led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), expressing confidence that the party will form the next government in the state.

Addressing the ‘Viksit Bharat Student Conclave’ at Ghatkesar near Hyderabad, Nabin said the BJP is committed to empowering the youth and creating an ecosystem where innovation, entrepreneurship and nation-building can flourish. He maintained that the aspirations of Telangana’s youth align with the vision of a developed India and said the BJP is determined to provide them with opportunities for growth.

Exuding confidence about the party’s electoral prospects, Nabin said Telangana is ready for political change and claimed that only a BJP-led government working in coordination with the Centre can accelerate development in the state.

Focusing on the role of young people, the BJP chief said India’s youth are driven by a spirit of nation-building rather than an anti-establishment mindset. He described the present generation as ambitious, innovative and committed to contributing to the country’s progress.

“Gen Z represents young Indians who are excelling in different fields. Some are making a mark in sports like cricket, lawn tennis and badminton, while others are building successful startups. They are creating opportunities not only for themselves but also for the nation,” he said.

Highlighting the country’s growing startup ecosystem, Nabin said more than 2.25 lakh young entrepreneurs are shaping India’s future through innovation and enterprise. According to him, over two lakh startups are currently operating across the country, resulting in the emergence of more than 125 unicorns under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said the Centre’s policies have played a crucial role in nurturing entrepreneurship and creating a favourable environment for startups. While acknowledging political differences with the Congress government in Telangana, he asserted that the Union Government has consistently introduced initiatives that support innovation, investment and employment generation.

“The youth of today are becoming job creators rather than job seekers. Their ideas, innovation and determination are creating employment opportunities for millions of people across the country,” he said.

Nabin also encouraged young people to actively participate in politics, saying that politics offers an opportunity to contribute directly to nation-building. However, he advised aspiring political leaders to have a clear sense of purpose before entering public life.

“Young people should enter politics with clarity about what they want to achieve. Politics is a platform to serve society and contribute to the country’s development,” he remarked.

Speaking on the impact of digital communication, Nabin observed that the widespread use of social media has significantly increased public awareness. He said people today are better informed about their rights and hold political parties accountable for the promises they make during elections.

“Citizens now remember the commitments made by political leaders and expect governments to fulfil them,” he said.

Criticising the Congress government in Telangana, Nabin alleged that it has failed to deliver on several promises made to the youth, particularly in the areas of employment and development. He said despite the immense talent, innovation and potential among Telangana’s young population, the state government has not created adequate opportunities for them.

The BJP leader stressed that effective leadership is essential for good governance and development. Drawing from his home state of Bihar, he narrated how administrative improvements were achieved after the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar assumed office in 2005.

He said that although the Director General of Police remained the same, a change in political leadership and decisive governance transformed the law-and-order situation in Bihar. According to him, capable leadership creates confidence within the administrative system and enables institutions to perform efficiently.

“If leadership has the vision and confidence to take the country in the right direction, crores of young people naturally move in the same direction. Strong leadership creates the environment necessary for development and progress,” he said.

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, senior party leaders, students and youth representatives attended the conclave, which focused on the role of young Indians in realising the vision of a developed India.
